Comment:
Horton is very socially awkward and will laugh in your face if you ask for a study guide, and will completely dismiss you if you try to talk to him or ask him something in the hallway. Lots of reading, and the test questions are very specific. His content that he's teaching is great, but his tests are too hard and he yells a lot.

This professor is a bit of an oddball. In class, he has a kind of awkward humor that can be funny but only if you like that stuff. His lectures are always very important and usually interesting as well. If you take his class, just remember that you NEED TO READ. However, some students got by just with knowing vocab and connections.

If you do all of the reading and study the material from both the reading and the lectures, it isn't too difficult to do well in the class. The only grades in the class are exams and finals so it is important to do well on those. While he can say some annoying things sometimes, Dr. Horton is a good professor overall and the class was interesting.

If you're looking for an easy foundations class don't take psych 101. Not because Horton is a bad professor or a bad guy, but he takes his 101 seriously. If you don't do the readings it will hurt you on the tests. The only grades are participation and the tests so it can be hard to do well.

For a Grove City College person, he seems to have his head screwed on pretty straight.

Refuses to help you do well in the class, very rude. Lectures are somewhat clear but he doesnt really tell you what to study. Not the type of professor that should be at a college with high standards.

Do the readings, or you may barely pass the class. Tests are hard, but if you study the correct way, you will be fine. Pay special attention to figures in the books that he mentions will be on the tests - they will definitely be there.

Entertaining in class but tests are very difficult. Only a few grades the whole semester so you have to do very well on tests and its hard to recover from just having a few bad grades.

He has a quirky sense of humor. I have found that people either love him or hate him. Personally, I loved him, but I can see his personality being a problem if you are easily offended. His test aren't easy but they are extremely fair.

I really enjoy what he talks about in class and the reading assignments. I do have to say that his tests are literally the hardest things ever. He will ask "which one is the BEST answer" when multiple answers could be correct. It's just really tricky multiple choice. Decent guy though.

There are only three grades in the whole entire class. Test 1, test 2, and test 3. There are literally no other grades in this class.

Best class I have ever taken! He was so interesting and engaging. His tests are easy if you take good class notes, pay attention, and read the assigned chapters. I highly recommend taking him

You will not like him if you are easily annoyed, easily offended, stupid enough to ignore him and surf Facebook in class, or too lazy to study. Dr. Horton is a great professor- he's funny, he's personable, and yeah, he's a bit quirky. He expects a lot, but you're in college now, so you should really learn to deal with it.

Dr. Horton is very strict about paying attention in class. DO NOT use your internet and DO NOT look at other papers or he will scream at you and say that he is making an example of you. He will kick you out of the class if you are not paying attention!

The PSYCH 101 class is by far my favorite class this semester. Dr. Horton did a great job. The people that usually complain are the ones who don't do the chapter readings, but even those are interesting.

Nice person, but (like all the other reviewers say) has very annoying mannerisms. You have to pay attention in and be familiar with the basics of the psych studies he cites, also keep up on reading. Tests are very challenging for a 101 class but not too absurd. He takes the occasional pot shot at presbyterians durring lectures.

Horton is a tough professor, he is very willing to help you though. Just ask him. He's a hard grader and won't round points, but overall I liked him. Just be prepared to work hard... REALLY hard. Read everything and participate in class discussions. He loves that. Also study like your life depends on it, because in this class, it kind of does.

HORRIBLE!!! Worst class I've ever had. Avoid like the plague unless you want to take an excessively specific foundations core taught by an immature 12 year old. Biased, unfair tests. Unless you're a swimmer or do water polo, he won't give you the time of day. AVOID!!
