the topic is definitely BORING, but laura does try to excite the class, especially with the way she dresses! definitely THE hotest prof on campus and no wonder guys flock to her class. students come in her office and she is always open and willing to give a hand on hard concepts. not afraid to come down hard on students

Comment:

Although, it took me a few tests to get use to her style of testing. This class certainly teached me how to take NOTES--and lots of them. She provided review sheets for tests, a session before every test to ask her any questions, and she's really approachable. Overall, she's a great teacher!

As an intro class it is slow at times. She takes extra effort to ensure that new students learn to take notes, prepair for tests and understand the material. However this tends to be painfuly boring at times for experienced students. In class exam unfair. Should be half credit - material dragged out

shes a fast teacher, she does not give notes ahead of time and she rips through what she teaches so when your trying to copy down the notes shes already done talking about it and then you dont understand the notes. I voiced my concerns, i was told to deal with it.

I loved this prof. Was my introductory SOSA class and because of her I decided to major it in. I always enjoyed class and thought she as very interesting. Plus, on the first day of class she told us her age. How cool is she!

She is explicit in her teaching style which is very helpful. She keeps you focused on the topic at hand, and is also very fair in her testing style. If you want an easier Sociology course take 1000 or 1100 because 1200 is a bit harder, but still good.
