Joe is teaching at Douglas College in New West now. Awesome, passionate professor who clearly loves what he does and wants students to succeed. Energetic lecturer who makes any subject interesting. Do the readings before class and you'll be able to fully participate for participation marks. Made me wish there were jobs to be had with a BA Sociology

Awesome professor! Looked forward to every class and spent it engaged and interested. Totally friendly, approachable guy. Minimal assignments and tests were totally fair and exactly what we'd learned. Can't recommend highly enough!

He has a unique teaching style which made his lectures fun and easy to follow. He is always happy to answer questions. Tests and assignments are easy and he provides a lot of guidance. Marks very fairly. Genuinely wants all his students to do well.

He is very animated. Some people didn't like his teaching style, but I thought he did a good job of making sociology seem interesting. I agree with a previous comment I saw: he does make you want to get out there into society and do something. Not a lot of homework either...

Nice guy, funny, very understanding. Makes theories and assignments more interesting by applying them to everyday life (including his own-which is usually quite entertaining). Just don't sit at the front of the class as he paces back and forth and it will give you headaches.

I almost left when I saw the boring text for Inequality but I'm glad I stayed. J cares and makes this seem important. Makes me want to get off my ass and do something. Bit disorganized but if you do the readings you'll do very well! Nice guy, good class, depressing subject.

did soc 112 & 205. His classes were the same every week. He was very hyper and said 'as it were' as often as possible. Couldn't handle this class more than once a week. Made me dislike sociology. Wouldn't recommend a course with him. Jerry Hinbest much better.

I have had joey before and I found him very personally committed to sociology. He tries and makes (boring) theory useful and is always very animated in class. This class was inspiring and usefull to anyone involved in social movements.

loses his train of thought a lot-(all the umms and da da das). is still however a very good and very interesting teacher. made me very interested in the topics we were learning and his exams are rather easy especially if you do the review packages.

Very passionate teacher! Class is unorganized, which is to be expected for its first run. He is accommodating, and truely wants you to succeed! Awesome guy, but a little unorganized. Probably should not drink coffee before his classes (haha). I would recommend this teacher, he grows on you!
