Won't allow her students to submit/say anything that is beneath their intelligence. If more profs took this approach, post-secondary education would be better for it. She challenged me, broke me from the lethargy that was plaguing my first few years. Her fierce intellect and passion for her subject and students really helped me turn it around.

You will learn more in her film class than any other in the Halifax area. She spends time analysing the films. She is extremely helpful and funny. Takes an interest in her students. Had local filmmakers come to the class to speak. It is a lot of work, but it is definitely worth it.

Josette made me gain so much interest in film, and for the first time in my experience at the Mount, she made me feel worthy of being there. In comparison to other profs (ie. PR), she is an 11 on a 1-10 scale. Classy lady, very knowledgeable, and a compassionate human being. Bravo, Josette!
