seldom posts his "slides" or unintelligible hand written notes online. ended up skipping his lectures and teaching the material to myself via textbook. on the rare occasion that i did show up to class i regretted it immediately. gets mad if you pack up a minute before class ends or show up late when he's usually late himself. avoid at all costs.

This professor is extremely disorganized and it takes him weeks to post the lecture notes on Brightspace. He thinks he's hilarious when he is not and always wastes a good 10-15 minutes before every class and gets mad at you when you start packing up to leave because he was to go to the 'very last second'. I do not recommend this professor.

Very mediocre lecturer. Does not properly use powerpoints, is unclear in regards to expectations, inaccessible outside class. His lack of clarity combined with his ambiguously phrased multiple-choice exams are truly what make his course so difficult.

Comment:

Harris is an ok teacher teaching an ok class. He knew the material and attempted to keep the class engaged with jokes that he definitely enjoyed more than his students. The aplia assignments were annoying and took about an hour to complete. Lectures were slow progressing. If you read the textbook you can teach yourself the material.

Doesn't matter if you show up to class as long as you read the textbook. His slides aren't very organized and he gets off topic a lot. He tries super hard to make the subject interesting but what ends up being the most interesting is his character. The guys a literal meme. Aplia is a huge grade booster and the material is super easy.

lawrence harris is a perfect example of a prof who knows everything about his subject, but nothing about teaching. going to the lectures is essentially useless as he is incapable of properly explaining course material in a clear and concise way. read the textbook and take good notes and you will do well. aplia online assignments are an easy mark.

Good professor overall, not the best though... Very slow at posting the slides from his Powerpoint on Brightspace. He tries a bit too hard to be funny, which is actually the funny part. Aplia assignments are easy points.

His class was a nightmare. He was very disorganized and struggled with tech. He was condescending and impatient. My friend didn't understand a concept so she approached him. He was snarky & he responded with apathy. Completely useless. I understood the concepts so luckily I had no reason to talk to him. Painfully boring and uses weird examples.

That class was so strange for me. The professor obviously knows what he's talking about, but his slides were taken directly from the textbook. This is an easy course, 25% of the mark is taken from easy online assignments. I went to all the lectures, but I'm not quite sure why I did, in retrospect.

Aplia is a huge mark booster with it being worth 20% which definitely helps. Mid term was very straightforward, however the 100 M.C final was definitely more difficult. Makes a lot of awkward jokes in class. Definitely not the best prof I've had, not the worst either.

Comment:

Tries to keep class entertained with jokes. He sometimes spends a long time covering just one concept. Reading the textbook is important. Best part is the "highest mark" grading system for APLIA. Being worth 25%, its pretty much a free A on a midterm and it also encourages you to go back and figure out what you did wrong.
