Dr. Jobe is really interesting to learn from because she truly loves the material. The exams covered a lot of material which made it difficult however she offered plenty of extra credit to help "curve" in a fair way. There were two group projects: a self-designed experiment that was fun & a herbarium of native plants that was very time consuming.

Those leaving negative reviews either weren't prepared to take an advanced Bio class or never bothered to ask for help when there were issues. I lived 30 minutes away from campus and personal circumstances didn't allow me to finish. Dr. Jobe was there every step of the way when I needed her help, even though I had to drop. Ignore bad reviews.

I absolutely adore her! I had her for Botany and she was great! If you have never had a biology class, I would suggest taking a beginner one as she does use a lot of terms. Those who said she offered no study material are greatly mistaken. She offers SO much extra credit as well as clear-cut study guides. She will work with you if you need it.

Dr. Jobe is a ton of fun in class. She's very sporadic and very entertaining. Her material does go in depth in many areas, and the information can be tricky to catch with how she teaches it. There is an obvious learning curve with her, but once you catch on the class gets incredibly easier. Labs are very clear, and she offers TONS of extra credit.

Its true she talks fast, skips around, and is easily distracted, but if you can handle that she is amazing. Lots of extra credit opportunities, she pretty much tells you what will be in the tests, and offers help whenever you need it. I haven't had a science class in ten years and got an A in this class. Its hard, but she makes it possible!

For lab, she is awesome at telling you exactly what you need to know for exams. She gives a lot of extra credit and has good study guides. She drops hints about exam essays too. Her tests are fair but you have to be well prepared. She does a good job helping you do that. I would DEFINITELY recommend her. If you put in the work, you'll do very well.

This is NOT an intro class. I would recommend taking BIO 101 first. She talks very fast and moves through the class and information very fast. She switches topics easily and does not explain herself well. Do not take her if you have little science background.

I loved her! I was a bit timid to take her after what I have read below but realized they were students who probably didnt put effort into learning. Shes hard but test are doable with the right amount of study time. I took 4 classes and still passed her class with an A. She always offers help and will understand your situation. Put the effort in!

This is my third time taking Dr. Jobe. I repeated Botany with her, and the only reason I had to repeat is because I had surgery during the first time I had her. She is an amazing teacher and is ultra-willing to help. She will clairify anything if you ask her to. I would highly recommend her. She doesn't make it easy, but she does make it doable.

I took this zoology class and ended up having to drop it, as did about half my class. She never made sense, moved super fast, and couldn't clarify what she wanted. I failed this class, then went on to take BIO 101 and passed with a 95% in the class...that should tell you something.

I was expecting the worst taking this class after reading reviews but most are just plain wrong. It is definitely a hard class and you'll need to study a lot but is absolutely doable. She offers the most extra credit of any class I've ever taken. Really go in depth when reviewing & do extra credit and you'll be fine. Bends over backwards to help.

The study guide is vague and doesn't cover everything on the test. The lab portion your on your own, so you better hope your studying the right material. Overall, this was my least favorite class out of my entire experience at maple woods.

DR. JOBE IS AMAZING!!! Do not listen to the bad reviews. This is a biology 2 credit, it isn't supposed to be easy! She is a great teacher and a wonderful person. She truly cares about her students, and DOES give study guides. The class is difficult she is not. The bad reviews must come from students who don't study.

She was a great teacher. She was very clear on what she wanted and was always there to help and would show up early if I wanted more help with a project. She is willing to do many things to help the students but she won't make it easier, this is college and you will be treated like a college student.

Veers away from topic. When questions are asked you're still confused after answer is given. It's a constant battle getting her to do anything to benefit the student i.e. quizzes, study guides, etc.

she is just a horrible teacher, gets off topic A LOT!, and then when she tries to go back to the subject, your even more confused than when she started talking. she throws these projects at you and she expects you to have background knowledge on this subject, even though its an entry level class. DO NOT TAKE HER.

Seems very knowledgable about all things bio. Is very into what she does and takes it seriously. At times can be way over your head, but keeps it interesting. Very tough class/instructor but offers enough extra credit to help your grade. Must be prepared to WORK and STUDY if you take her courses.

This was the worst teacher I've ever had, ever. She isn't clear, follows no path, provides no study material, and she doesn't even convey her what she wants you to know on the tests. Don't take her, ever.

Great teacher, very clear and understanding. Assumes students have a history in Biology which is suggested. Great teacher, I would recommend. I had her for Botany and Zoology and was very happy with her as a teacher.
