Horrible teacher, goes through subject way too fast, really bad at explaining concepts, and she makes it really confusing. I thought I was good at math until I took this class and all it did was make me discouraged and I had to drop out. And like the other commenters said...her voice WILL drive you insane!!!

If you haven't taken precalc the previous semester you may want to revisit an old textbook because she uses alot of commentary like...."oh, you remember that from precalc" and if you are like me and took it a while back, you may struggle a little. Just make sure to stay on top of your game by visiting the math lab or getting a tutor.

Ms. Barclay, I think, makes MATH 55 easy(-er), which is nice. She goes through everything slowly and step-by-step. And her tests aren't bad too! (if you study the review sheet).

When I first started at Cuesta, my roommate would return from class in tears daily. She couldn't pass math. She had several different teachers, all of which she didn't get/didn't like, etc. When it came time for me to take math, I decided to "interview" the math dept before committing to a semester with any of them. I checked out each teacher and wasn't impressed by any of them until i found Judy. She gave me a great math foundation. but she didn't teach trig: i still haven't passed trig withou

I had Mrs. Barclay for math in 1985, 86, 87....she used the Charles McKeague text book and taught everything step by step....it was the first time since high school that math made sense. She was so patient and helpful not only during class, but during office hours. When I had to take my teachers exams YEARS later, I was able to remember everything (almost) that she taught me. Now that I'm teaching, I think of her often and tell my students what a difference she made to me. Thanks Judy! Mary Beth
