Comment:

Remmes is an amazing professor. Since it is not an Easy A, a lot of people complain. Just put in the work. This is my second time taking her and she is amazing. She lectures a lot but, isn't that what college is about? Just go to class, take notes, pay attention, and study. She is the sweetest and most caring professor.

Get ready to literally have to memorize everything from the specific photos of some random pots and buildings from centuries ago. When I say some, I mean at least 70% of her tests are based on your ability to memorize photos and random facts about certain objects. Oh and "how you feel" Sounds easy-ish right? Wrong Don't take her. She's terrible

Professor Remmes is my favorite English professor of all times. She's such an inspirational teacher, who will lead you on a path of self-discovery. I took two of her courses and if there are others I'm going to take those as well. She helped me become a better writer, but more importantly, a more rounded person. I love her to pieces! She's the best

Be ready to do 6-8 discussion posts a week. That doesn't include the reading. She wants you to post on the discussions daily and comment on everyone's post. Also she wants you to post days before due date. She is an extremely tough grader on papers and takes forever to grade them. Good luck to you if you take her class.

I took the accelerated course, and I did survive. She grades based on her personal views, NOT your effort. One in particular was a paper that a former Eng. Prof. proof read/edited for me before submission...I received a C! Meanwhile, I received A's on things that supported HER VIEWS! She ruined my 4.0 GPA. If you can avoid her, DO THAT!

I heard going into this class that it was difficult. But what I realized is that it wasn't necessarily the material but her insanely hard grading. Also, I found her to be an inconsistent grader which frustrated me because I had no clue what to do to get a better grade. Maybe I would've had a better experience if this wasn't online but I doubt it.

I warn you - do NOT take this class. She expects way too much work in too small amounts of time. Instead of grading you based on if you can back up your statement, she is the type of English teacher to grade you based off her personal opinion and view, and if you don't happen to coincide, good luck.

I strongly advise you NOT to take English 1 with her. Dont risk it. The workload is at times overwhelming and if you want to get a good grade then expect to study more than 9 hour a week outside classroom time. I wish i could say more, but what i want to say is against the rules. All i can say is DONT take this class! Choose another professor.

Though it was my first online and didn't know what to expect, I thought this class had a relatively heavy course load. Expect to read a lot and engage in discussions several times weekly which are sometimes difficult to keep up with. Very responsive to emails but pretty tough grader. Challenging but good, you will learn a lot.

I would advise to take this class with another professor. She is tough and I feel like she doesn't care about anything else but perfectionism, and you better have the correct software program, microsoft word, or you might as well drop out. You can try to do your best but when all you receive back is unfair criticism your soul will eventually die...

This was not an easy class but I am amazed at how much I learned. 5 (great) books over 6 weeks, a presentation, a midterm and a paper. Not for the lazy, that's for sure, and I absolutely loved it! She's very clear with what she expects and with assignments. I would definitely take her again! I really did learn a lot.

This teacher hates international students. She leaves you passive-aggressive comments and her standards change! I took her class a second time because I failed the first, made all the changes she told me and she still counted everything down with comments like "Didn't we go over this once already?" Not stupid enough to try a third time.
