Comment:
Extremely scattered when it comes to the lectures. Does not explain her steps at all and acts as if you know the rules already; meanwhile it is literally a MATH course. So imagine a math course with no direction or clarity of rules. Without my TA I probably would've failed; she was actually amazing. And I'm an A student..

Comment:
Logic is extremely hard, especially if you do not show up for tutorials and do your homework. The prof stresses the importance of homework because it's math people! You need to actually do the homework to remember the content! I don't get all the negative comments about her. I found her lectures very helpful.

Dr. Pelham is such an endearing and genuine individual. Although logic is a dense subject, she still tries to make jokes here and there to keep you interested. She's very approachable and respectful of your needs. Wonderful prof!

Comment:
I don't think Judy is the problem with the logic course, the textbook on the other hand is horrible. She adjusted our final exam to make it more manageable because the class was behind, had extra tutorials for students who were struggling. Do not skip logic what so ever, treat it as you would a heavy math course.

Needs to reconsider teaching. Not able to teach material to someone who has no knowledge of logic. Needed to teach the whole course to myself, TAs were helpful though.

Expect to be self taught, professor teaches her peers not students. Not able to explain concepts clearly. All over the place with tests. Class average is fifty percent or below. Would never take a course with this professor, unless absolutely necessary. Textbook is about two hundred dollars.

Seemed kind of scattered- you only really need to go to class before tests and not really even then. I went to the first few lectures and then bailed, only did tutorials. Make sure you get a good TA! She actually gave us the exam questions as practice questions. I did no readings, only went to the last 2 classes before the exam and got an A.

Lectures are pointless. Tutorials are helpful. attend the tutorials because participation is 20% of the final grade. I only went to 8 tutorials to the whole year and my mark dropped considerably.

Worst logic prof. She was confused herself half the time. Read the book and you will get an A. DONT skip tutorials. They are very helpful in this course and are easy free marks.

tone of voice is not engaging at all which leads to students probably having a lower view of the value of the course and its material leading to lower grades. Definitely would have liked to risk having a different professor for Pelham was not a proper lecturer for me. However, the tutorials we're more helpful for me than anything else.

she just reads straight off the power points which are uploaded onto moodle so you are wasting your tuition fee's if you have her as your prof. stay at home and download the ppts and you will get an A without ever setting foot in a lecture.

Nice, helpful and very knowledgeable in the subject. What might seem to others (judging by some comments on here) like her being distracted or 'scatterbrained' is really a matter of her taking the time to think through complex and puzzling matters, rather than giving a pat, preformed answer - and the former is the better approach for philosophy.

Relatively easy course. Had 3 online tests, 3 short assignments, and final exam. Prof is really nice! But her lectures are confusing and boring. Attend tutorials! Luckily I had an amazing TA so I wasn't ever too lost. Also! I barely touched the textbook.

She was the least interesting out of all my profs in first year. I always thought PHIL profs have a lot to share - but this woman didn't even know what she was talking about. Everything she said went over my head. So, I ended up dropping the class after a month.

shes a really nice prof. if you ever need help shes always there sometimes she can seem a little bit lost, but shes easy at marking and one of the best professors i had first year. the tutorials are useless, you learned more from the lectures
