Professor Thorn is wonderful. From the first day of class her lectures were engaging. She presents concepts in a clear manner and has very clear expectations for students. Professor Thorn is excited to teach and genuinely cares about her students success. She is very accessible outside of class and always willing to answer questions.

Judy is the kind of professor who will make you want to be the best student you can possibly be just to make her proud of you, while still making you feel like it's okay to cry in her office while she hands you tissues and makes school seem less crappy.

Though I enjoyed Thorn's engaging lecture style, I often left class confused about the very concepts that she had explained, because she often started explaining a process with the middle of that process and then failed to make the chronology clear. Because the exams were timed, I had to study 3x as much just to finish them on time.

Judy is amazing! She is very interactive, even with a class of 110 people. I highly recommend taking this class if you are at all interested in Biology. I know that I plan on taking as many of her classes as I can!

I give this professor a thumb down. Why? Because: 1.she just did not use the power point to conclude and summarize the lecture as Ester Penick and other professors do; 2.always "talk to your neighbor:this really interrupt my thinking of difficult problems (like a cut down);3.don't even listen to my suggestion and you cannot imagine everyday exams!

Just a terrible teacher, by far the worst I've encountered at Knox. She has an ineffectual teaching style and gives ridiculously hard exams. The work load alone far exceeds what is warranted for one class (even a 300 level). I learned the hard way to steer clear of anything with her name attached.

I was one of a few sophomores who was brave enough to take developmental. Judy does go quickly through material, but she is willing to work with you if you are confused. She likes it when students come to class with questions.
