Julia is fantastic. Writing and English classes have always caused me anxiety but Julia was incredibly helpful and encouraging. She makes you work for it but you'll be better off in the end. This was on online class and she responded very quickly, and no final woot, woot ! I would take a class by Julia again in a heartbeat.

You will get an "F" if you bold a word or leave a space. She dose not seams to care about quality work but rather picks on irrelevant things. I also followed examples from the slides provided then got told it was stupid for me to use them ? Julia has no direction or consistency when grading or giving feedback.

Julia cares about all of her students but, she fails to understand that this is a first year course. It is dry, and full of assignments. She's a hard marker and asks for too much. Her instructions are sometimes unclear especially for an online course. Make sure you are very self disciplined to take this online!

She is ABSOLUTELY AWFUL! She gives you no help what so ever and is completely condescending and rude. She picks favourites and if you are not one she will fail you no questions asked. That is all.

In high school I got an A+ with 98% in English 12. I ended up getting an A in Julia's class, but I worked harder than I ever have in English before. Her instructions can be a bit obtuse, and she is undeniably picky, but she is willing to help, and wants you to succeed. There are no easy A's here, but you will learn a lot.

Love her, she is funny and very nice. She gives a set criteria and is concise with what she wants. If you do something wrong she is willing to tell you what you did wrong. I would recommend her.

She marks subjectively. I think it's unprofessional. This class isn't about learning to write well, it's about learning to write within guidelines. She doesn't allow much room for self expression or development of style. She should be teaching Grade 7.

I have attended more post-secondary institutions than I can count on one hand, been in and out of school for 10 years, and have to say that Julia Denholm is one of the best professors I have had the pleasure of learning from. She is concise, thorough, and most importantly caring and funny. She has certainly made an impact.

Julia is amazing. She is extremely clear (go figure.. she is a communications teacher). If you follow her instructions you can do well in her class. She offers great suggestions and I can honestly say her class has improved my writing. I would recommend her class to anyone.

I find it funny how everyone that gives a low rating here cannot put together a coherent sentence. Anyway, I found Denholm to be a very fair and helpful teacher. She makes sure that everyone has an understanding of class work and provides them with the opportunity to have their essays checked before submitted. Overall I certainly recommend her

Julia was by far the BEST english teacher that I have ever had the honor to have. She was kind, fair and tough. I learned more in her class then any other. I would take another class with her in a heartbeat!
