Comment:

Dr. Walker is one of the best professors I have ever had at Geneseo. She is incredibly intellengent, engaging, and insightful during her each lecture. However, her tests are difficult and you need to know the books very well in order to get a good grade. She also does debates, so there is some public speaking. Hum 1 with Dr. Walker is a great class

DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING WITH JULIA WALKER. Hum 1 was actually the bane of my existence. She makes her class so insanely hard when it doesn't have to be. You have to write exactly to her standards and following her exact interpretation of a text. I have never worked so hard for a grade in my life. She's insane do not take with her.

I respect Julia for her dedication to both her students and the work she presents to them. She is clearly qualified to teach and knows what she's talking about. I learned a lot from her. That being said, this class was the bane of my existence. I barely made it out alive. Know what you are getting into and if decide if it is worth the insanity.

This was the Hardest class I have taken at Geneseo. Dr. Walker is a great teacher and an intelligent person, but this class should be worth more than 4 credits when taken with her. Must know every book inside and out to do well. You also participate in 4 group debates so there is a lot of public speaking. Good teacher, but very difficult class

Do not take this class if you have heavy course load, its more like a 6 credit class. Must know the books perfectly for hope of doing well. Walker is brilliant and will make you smarter, but she will kick the snot out of you in the process. Don't expect above a C unless you make this class your job. if your a slacker, you've already failed drop now

If you ARE willing to do this, you will get the most out of you education. She will kick your ass up and down the classroom and you WILL be smarter for it. Plus her Spaniels are beyond adorable. She's brilliant.

Unless you whole-heartedly want to have to repeat humn, do NOT take Walker's class. I genuinely enjoy Dr. Walker as a person but this class is downright impossible. Even if her section is the only one left with spots open, know that there's a reason for that and push back humn another semester.

Julia is a pretty neat lady. Although she can be harsh, if you are nice to her (without being a suck-up), do your work, and can back up your opinions with some real, verifiable proof, you'll do fine in her class. She's a tough grader, and will always give you her honest opinion, but if you listen to her, she really will make you a better writer.

Do not take!!! Will flat out tell you that your opinions are wrong when she asks for them which makes students not want to participate. I got good grades on all my assingments but for some reason failed the final therefore she failed me for the entire class.

Either you like her or you don't. She's insightful, very opinionated but she does make class interesting. She makes you work for your grade. Don't expect to just show up to class and easily earn a good grade. Sarcastic and blunt to an extend of rude in class but rather nice outside of classroom.

She is very opinionated but you don't have to agree with her all the time. Make sure you are always very nice and polite and particite a lot in class. Her tests are all essay questions and you have to know the texts extremely well to do average. Impossible to get an A.

After hearing negative things about Dr. Walker in the beginning I was nervous but I can happily say this class was HANDS DOWN one of the most interesting and best classes I've taken at Geneseo, and I've taken some really great classes. Both compelling and thought provoking I love the way Dr. Walker thinks and couldnt wait to discuss more each class

Queen Elizabeth on Film. It's very sad that she is often rude and sarcastic, because this one is very intelligent. She's very helpful if you go to her out of class, and what she wants is very straightforward. You need to work hard, and go to class, and put up with her attitude--but I think it's worth it.

She is very funny and engaging. She takes real world events and ties them into the discussions, which make the dry material so much better. Her teaching style is great. Class is discussion oriented and will make you think. This class was beneficial to my life, even though i nearly failed it. I learned so much, but her grading is somewhat rediculous

She's a great professor, but an extremely tough grader. She makes the class engaging and interesting, even when the material is dull. I learned more from her class than I've learned from any other class. Even though I did horrible in her class, I loved it and took so much away from it.
