Comment:
Hands down, the best prof. I had at Geneseo. He is probably the most difficult grader I had in the English dept. BUT he was still more than fair! I took an extra Shakespeare class I didn't need just because he taught it. On the other hand, if you are looking for a HUMN ptof who will give you an easy A, you should probably look elsewhere.

insightful teacher, likes for the class to be discussion based. if you work hard with him on papers (i.e. go to office hours), he will go out of his way to make sure you do well. exams are tough because they are hard to prepare for... take good notes but constantly be relating them to overarching ideas of the course.

Had this professor for British Lit. and 17th Century Romanticism and loved him! Very scholarly and really seems to enjoy teaching and imparting his knowledge of the subject matter. Prepare for the final, though. It'll probably be really challenging.

Comment:
(17th Century Lit.) I wasn't too thrilled about this class going in, but I can honestly say he made it more interesting than British Romanticism or most other of my English-electives. The poetry can be really thick, but he made it a bit easier.

The class I took with him was a Shakespearean era literature class. He is a great professor and very personable. He is clear on what he wants you to do, and he is usually quite entertaining. Show up to class, act intelligent, and do all the papers. No problem! He's awesome! Highly recommended!

Comment:
Dr. Finkelstein is a really good teacher, but beware because he is a tough grader. He has high expectations for his students, and their papers. He is a true Shakespearean though and knows the material in and out. Fun classes, although they are lecture based. Very helpful outside of class. Good teacher who loves what he is doing.

Comment:
Funny and tells random stories. Relates EVERYTHING in Shakespeare to homo-eroticism, homosexualism, and just sex in general, which is actually kind of funny. If you laugh at something he always asks "whats so funny?"--usually it's him. Go to class and read and you'll do well on the final.

Two papers for this class. Assignments are not hard, as you are instructed just to paraphrase what he taught in class. Though you aren't penalized for skipping, it's a good idea to go and write down EVERYTHING he says and study your notes for the papers and the final. He's very friendly and helpful.

Shakespeare class. He didnt have a very structured class, and didnt provide alot of insight. Had very confusing essay topics- not clear at all. Boring too. However, he seems nice, and hes helpful if you meet him outside of class

took him for my INTD freshman writing class, thought having him as a INTD teacher was awful. Couldn't formulate his thoughts, which turned into a cinfusing essay topics, and no structure to the grading. Was a Shakespeare class tho...

Not a very remarkable professor - he doesn't put on a show like some other professors. However, I remember him to be quite fair in his grading.
