Dr. Artis is an amazing professor. Her assignments and expectations are clear and she explains the concepts really well. Easily accessible outside of class. She gives a practice midterm and practice final to help you prepare. Weekly homework assignments but they aren't hard. Definitely recommend her for SOC 279.

More leanient Spanish teacher I have never had. Never even made us talk it in class, and instead we discussed all kinds of cool stuff. Exam was rough, but at least it was in English.

The class itself is a joke, which biases my opinion. However, Julie does know what she is doing. It was annoying when she wasn't sure how to use the new Microsoft Office Suite? isn't that what she'd paid to teach? She is bad at email, which is always annoying, but other than that, she wasn't bad. Very lenient about late work, which rocks.

Very nice woman.Extremely helpful, class isn't hard at all, and if you're lucky you'll even have a tutor in your class always available.I'm a math person, so it's a bit easier for me, but honestly not hard.Go to class, pay attention, and you'll do perfectly fine. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND HER

The class was challenging at times but Julie really tried her hardest to make sure everybody understood what was going on. The workload was never overwhelming and too difficult. She is fair with grades and really wants to see you pass her class.

Not a huge math fan and this class just made me hate math even more. It's obviously a reguired class, but you won't use any of the stuff that we learned again. Artis is one of those teachers who crams new material the day before the exam and doesnt feel like she did her job until u learn as much as possible.
