this teacher was emotionally unstable and unable to separate her personal feelings from her responsibilities to her students. She was an excellent voice teacher but she felt a need to punish me for switching to another teacher after I'd satisfied all vocal requirements for my degree. I was unable to trust another voice teacher for over a decade.

As long as you respect her and realize that she knows what she's doing and talking about, you can learn a lot from her. I'm not even through with my first semester and my voice has improved dramatically.

I like Dr. Ackroyd because although she is maybe a little boring, she doesn't put up with b.s. from freshmen and disrespectful people. She expects students to act like grown-ups and I appreciated that. She is also very concise and thorough.

She treated us like Elementary Students. Her music is very old, and needs to be updated. She says that she will respond quickly to email, but never does. Also she is very judgemental and makes bias remarks. I would not reccomend her to anyone.

I came to enjoy this professor. She is enthusiastic and willing to share her impressive knowledge of the subject matter. She often asked for input from the rest of the class if they had any, and frequently gave ideas for enriching our experience. I liked her and the class.

She is condescending, unhelpful, arrogant, and extremely unpleasant. Reminds me of a nun I had in catholic school! Interesting class but she ruins it, makes it way harder than it should be! Pick ANOTHER PROFESSOR! Be Aware!!

AVOID THIS PROFESSOR IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. Ackroyd treats the class like they are in elementary school, takes attendance, and her voice is shrill and obnoxious. Overall, the class was interesting and took some work, but she is a very annoying person.
