I definitely recommend this teacher. Karen goes beyond the class, she likes to hear the opinion of the students and she focuses on the critical thinking. Also, if you don't complete an assignment she is not super strict, her main interest is not your grade is your learning.

She is a soft and easy person and when she teaches it is more about ideas than grammar properly. She really treats her students as equals and is always asking them for their opinions. The only point I think could be better is the grammar explanations that sometimes look a little vague.

If you want to use a phone in a classroom this class might be good for you. But you will have to remember details of a book before the midterm and final. And you can use the book during the exams. There is NO multiple choices. we had to write our opinions and facts about the book. Very boring and heavy for the exams class.

boring class. We read a novel and she gave us many papers and we had to answer it as homework and submit it. The midterm and final tests were VERY heavy like that you have to remember a whole story of the novel. She is not a bad person and mean. Just read and answer. Not good for the future.

Karen is the best ESL teacher I've ever had. She is very helpful and dedicated in teaching. She may not hand you an A just for being in the class, but she tries her best to help you learn the materials and pass the class. I highly recommend her.
