Comment:

This was a very hard class. You have to do tons of reading & notes, & the tests are horrible. A lot of the test Qs were poorly written & unclear. Others were about vague or irrelevant details, or were questions like "what do you think" about X. Tests are 50 Qs & have 60 minutes to do it. The prof did give credit to all when everyone failed a test.

I took the online version of Survey of American Music...it was rough going, ladies and gentlemen. The 4 tests were the only sources of grading. A lot of people struggled so she offered a lot of ex. credit but in the end, the study guides were not especially helpful and the tests are pretty intense. 50 questions at 5 points each. Ouch.

Class satisfies a lot of credits, but is not an easy A. you must do all the reading and listen to the lectures and also take lengthy notes on each. the test questions do come straight from this material but some questions are terribly written. When the class did poorly on an exam she was generous with extra points. No plus/minus grading.

This class was very hard. She was very reasonable when it came to giving extra points, but she only did so when the whole class practically failed. The points were appreciated, but the tests were extremely hard. DO not take this class if you want to get an A without her help in points. The narrator slurs his words horribly.WAY TOO MUCH READING!!

extremely difficult. the tests are worth 250pts each, but only 50 questions. there are no other assignments for this class besides tests. theres way too much to know for each test. her study guides are very vague and broad, but the tests are extremely specific to people and dates. i don't recommend this class for anyone.

Survey of American Music was ridiculous. This class needed a better discription, you will talk about music from the 1800's clear up until the final unit. Its not interesting and the tests are impossible. Do not take this class, it ruined my gpa.

Don't go into this class thinking it is easy. It is good because it will satisfy a lot of credits, but it requires work and going to class. She uses the CPS pads daily and all quizzes are in class over these clickers. Tests are online and are difficult. You need to study. It's pretty boring too and she can be annoying.

Can't stand this class. I want to gouge my eyes out. It is so boring, the tests are actually hard and unfair. If you can actually pay attention in this class...maybe you'll get with a B+.

Take music 354 if you want to guarantee yourself an A. Im taking this for the historical and cultural general studies. Most likely going to get A's in all my other class but the best I can hope for in this is an A-. Tests are surprisingly difficult, mainly because she doesn't know how to ask questions and puts answers where it could be two of them.

Dont plan on using your cellphone or talking during this 500 person class. She yells at you. Online tests and homework. Have to go to class to get all the notes. Homework requires lengthy answers and the tests ask specific questions. Take this class with friends. Randomly has theater people come in, watch movie clips. Requires effort.

THIS IS NOT A CAKE CLASS, take mus 354 if u want it easy. the online hw you will never score full credit unless you write a book, and the tests online are so ridiculous. You can take the tests with your notes and 5 buddies but you may think you scored well but i dont know anyone who has scored over a 79

Wow, such an easy course. Bring your laptop to class everyday to take notes. The tests (which are 60% of the points)are online, and are 90% from the notes. Just search in the notes to find the answer. Use Wikipedia or Google to find any other answers. The reading from the book is very boring and you aren't tested on much of it. I got an A.

Certain sections of the class are interesting. The prof is okay overall, but not overly interesting; she seems to make interesting material not interesting (Rock and Roll). All hw and exams are online.

You have to go to class and take like at least 4 pgs of notes a day, but the tests are all online and taken straight out of the notes. There are 8 HW's and the reading does suck, but they are easy points if you just do them. Overall, its an easy A if you do the homeworks which are due every Sunday night and you take notes in class.
