She made us go to these SNID talks which some actually turned out to be interesting. Her lectures are well structured but her problem is that she uses a ton of words that sound intelligent but all essentially mean the same thing, so you don't really get what she's trying to prove.

Compared to DEVS100A I found these lectures extremely boring and useless. I'm still not 100% sure what I'm supposed to be getting out of these lectures.

Comment:
Probably my least favorite class. Dreaded going to class and found the lectures to be confusing and dry. The slides are full of quotes that don't seem to relate that much to what the prof is talking about. Still not sure what concepts I was supposed to take away from the course. Beware of the textbook. It's extremely dry and hard to read.

I really did dread going to this class, partially because you really do not learn anything. I anticipated majoring in DEVS and after first and second semester of these vaguely constructed slides, I was drawn away from the department. Just generic development issues, without any attempts to further delve into the complexities of the current system.

I found she talked quite quickly and very loudly which made it fairly difficult to focus on what she was saying and often her slides are very different from what she's saying so it's hard to know what to take notes on

Slides used in class are not helpful at all and full of quotations. Unclear what will be on exam throughout semester. Goes off on tangents. Needs more concepts and less history!

As par the course with this school everything comes back to the oppression of the Left but not on a class level-no no.Everything comes down to the oppression of women and/or gay/lesbians.I have no problem with either of these issues except when EVERYTHING keeps coming back to this! Not exactly the most friendly prof either, read her door.

Comment:
Dr. Dubinsky was a very clear and logic centred professor. She was down to earth and very concise with her arguments. Comprehending the origins of these arguments was a little trying at times, as I had trouble understanding just how everything in history seemed to tie back to the plight of women and gender inequality. That being said; good teacher!
