Dr. Fryer is an extremely hard professor. One thing I found is she is likely to not grade your tests as hard if you come in and talk to her. If she sees that you really care and schedule a time to meet/come to office hours, it is easier to pass her class.

Prof. Fryer is very intelligent and clearly passionate about geology. I'm unfortunately not even slightly interested in geology, so I had to work hard for the 'B' I ended up getting in this course. Lectures were often long, and tests were pretty difficult. However, Prof. Fryer was willing to help if asked, and the grading curve was a lifesaver.

A lot of people complain about Fryer and how she is impossible, but its not hard to do well if you just go to class, ask questions, and participate. I had to work really hard but I had a great experience. She really wants you to learn and is definitely trying to dispel the "rocks for jocks" mentality that is generally associated with the class.

Not a bad class. Go to class every day and take good notes and you'll be fine. Tests mainly are composed of what was discussed in the lectures. Everyone always complains about this class, but I worked hard and got an A. If you take advantage at looking at old exams in University Reserve, it helps.

Probably the worst teacher i have ever had, unorganized lectures with multiple useless tangents. Tests consist of questions pertaining to information never mentioned by Fryer. It is as if I am teaching myself by the textbook without the help of a "Professor".

Not quite as bad as everyone says. The class is a little challenging for an intro class,but she grades very favorably if she can tell you put forth an effort. She tends to give scatterbrained lectures though.
