Karen was the best professor of sociology, and we miss being able to take classes with her (especially stats). She really cared about us, and tried to help us understand the material. Other prof.s were always taking her classes, so we'd have to search for her. Probably wrote the bad reviews too!

Very nice teacher and very passionate about social problems. Offers a few pts extra credit. Six 15pt quizes and two 5pt projects. Mostly discussion, not a lot of notes taken in class. You hear from everybody which is cool and different from your standard lecture. Read book and you'll do fine, also a few guest speakers which is nice and interesting.

Class is only out of 100pts, every point is critical. Seems like a nice teacher but constantly changed her rules on assignments and was unwilling to re-grade. Also was late and unorganized. Just study/read the textbook before quizes and you should do fine. Not a lot of notes in class mainly discussion. Applying what you learn is key to doing well.

She was very wishy washy but quizes were only worth 10 pts and not so bad. i would take this class if you like class debates and not much homework.

Good Class - both interesting & easy. Small quizzes instead of huge exams (very nice) & she tells you everything that will be on them beforehand. The best part is that you aren't just sitting there listening to her lecture; you hear from everyone in the class which makes for really interesting discussions! I highly recommend this class.

Horrible online class! Was not helpful in answering questions - vague guidelines - I did well in the class, but it was a pain the entire time!

I took this as an online class. This professor was extermely unprofessional. She changed the syllabus multiple times one week. I had already completed the assignment when she did so. She was very hard to work with and lacked communication skills. If you are going to teach an online class you need to know how to communicate.

While extremely easy, this class infuriated me. Intro to Sociology "Honors" was a big joke. The class consisted of the prof. discussing off-topic things, skimming through and reading the book during class, and projects that could have been assigned in elementary school. A total waste of time.

This teacher loves talking about her politics and herself. I would suggest taking her though because compared to most of the other professors at Eastern she is pretty good. She likes to blast Clinton which is a relief as well and is good because most worthless social science professors at Eastern make Oprah look like a redneck conservative.

Excellent instructor, go to class, pay attention and read the book, easy 'a'. Most annoying thing about the class were morons who would speak about **** they had no clue of. i.e.-certain minority people in class would say gays are evil and choose to be so. Its a Social Problems class folks, get with it, ur the problem. Take her though, you'll love

Karen is an interesting professor. She is very nice and helpful, great class if you are bad at math. But, she has an unconventional style which to some can be really refreshing but to others you might hate it. She really helped me when I had to leave school for a work issue, she even graded me so that I didnt lose the credits!

I had her for 3 classes. She is one of the best teachers I have ever had. She is willing to do almost anything for you to succeed in her class, she cares alot about how students do. You can talk to her about anything, stuff thats not even related to class material. I recommend her to anyone and everyone!

The most closed minded professor ive ever had. Shows her biases in class all too often. Buy the book and study the definitions, most of the leacutes were a waste of time. Class is an easy A.

Great woman, focuses on math anxiety. Whats everyone to do well. Allows for notecards. Tells you exactly what to have on them and in what order. Gives study guides that are very close to the tests. Gives 2-3 extra credit points. Do these, she takes off points for everything on tests. Great lady, highly recommended.

Karen is a very understanding professor, she works with you, if you have "outside" problems. She is very passionate about what she teaches, and her beliefs are very strong. And she does not hate white people..at least the girls (I'm KIDDING!)I would FOR SURE recommend her, just open your mind!
