Professor Proft is very easy going and does a good job of responding to students outside of class. Majority of her grading comes from the speeches she assign. She is very adamant on her students improving their speech skills therefore she gives very useful, detailed feedback but sometimes too late. Remember, that there are weekly assignments to do.

Best teachers at CLC! Very caring, and inspirational. Class was tough, but she will help you get through public speaking. I would take her class again!

Clear expectations and grading criteria. Gave samples of previous students work to get first few discussions started, generating high quality, thoughtful online discussions throughout the term. Sometimes a little late getting a weekly assignment posted but added time to the back end. Exam questions seem to be from a different version of the book.

Is amazing!! do the work and the reading and do your best in speeches and well. You have to make the effort. She is the kindest teacher, and emailing her is the best. Will make time for you on weekends or any time. Should receive an awards with all the great work and inspiration she truly gives. Love her attitude.

I took her 8 week online speech class & can't say enough nice things about Professor Proft. You come in 4 times to do your speeches and she makes everyone feel so comfortable and supportive of one another. I was dreading this class but she makes it as painless as possible and is always there for you. If you don't like public speaking, take her!!

Proft is a great teacher and is someone who is understanding. As long as you do your assignments and show up for your speeches you will pass the class. She is very outspoken and energetic. If you start missing multiple classes your chances of passing are slim, especially if you miss a speech.

One of the best professor I have ever had, super easy to talk to, for a student that normally runs when he hears of the words public speaking she taught me how to effectively write an outline for speeches which helped alot

She is super energetic and funny in class. The homework is a lot to prep for speeches and the grading criteria is sometimes unclear. She is super understanding and flexible for due dates. Be prepared for lots of homework though.

I took this course during intersession and found it very enlightening. Not only does she care about students but she presents material in a very fun and interesting way. She uses class activities to spice things up. Textbook wasn't really needed but good to have just in case. Really nice, quirky personality!

Proft wants her students to succeed. She has a very chill and rambunctious personality, always smiling and laughing. There's a lot of work, but as long as you do it, you most likely will get a good grade. Make sure you turn stuff in on time but she is lenient if you talk to her.

good class, but you must do all postings. Tests are easy and come from the book. Not much interaction unless you seek it out. you have plenty of time to complete assignments. Easy A if you participate.

Mrs. Proft is very easy to approach and will always help you! You need to attend class to understand what is going on. She takes you through the steps the first time and then lets you do it on your own after. Only two tests- final and midterm. She is very honest and a fair grader. Gives you a chance to make up points too!

Always encouraging and positive. Makes sure every student is on the right track and is there for any question or suggestion. Grades fast and responds to emails quickly. Loves to teach and does her job as best as she can. Possibly the best teacher am going to have in clc. There's no reason why you won't get a good grade on her class and learn

So much going on for an online class, there's a routine but then a random journal will be thrown in and you end up forgetting it and it's all due on the same day! Too much if you ask me. It should be one or the other like my other online class was. That's just my opinion.

She was awesome. Took her for an online cultural communications class and it was the best class I could have asked for. Clear cut grading criteria and always emailed back when needed. Very clear info and it was such a breeze if you do all the work. Awesome powerpoint notes and discussion boards were very well put together for the semester.

Kari has to be one of the best professors CLC has! She made public speaking a breeze & did everything should could to make everyone as comfortable as possible. She's so much fun and brings nothing but positive energy to the class. Extremely helpful & she wants you to succeed. I loved this class! Take her if you get the chance! :)

Kari Proft is a total spaz and it is amazing. She is one of the best professors at CLC. If you have the chance to take her, jump at it. She is helpful and kind and extremely knowledgable. She is a great person to get to know as she has a great understanding of the going-ons at CLC. Love you Proft!
