Well, maybe he is knowledgeable. But he definitely doesn't know how to teach! He makes things complicated and messy. You will feel confused about every class you took.

This is the least organized professor I've ever had. He teaches a software engineering course, yet he can barely use UR courses. He revises assignments 20 times after he publishes them. He mumbles and is monotone. His writing is so tiny you won't be able to read from the back half of the class. His average midterm grade is about 30%. TERRIBLE.

The course is pretty hard as it is and Karim managed to make it even harder. He rushes through everything and his explanations are really poor. He is very picky with how questions are done as well.

Some people are just not meant to teach Karim is one of those people. He has good notes and organized slides, but his lectures have no clear direction. He jumps all over the place and a lot of times fails to explain concepts and just assumes you know them magically. His monotone voice also doesn't help in all this.

Karim often teaches other people's classes on short notice - he was a bit unsure what to teach this semester. His material is strongly based on the textbook - read it and you won't be lost. He is clearly trying to help out, but it doesn't always come through. A few weird lectures (random videos, looking at code, what language is this?!)

As other have mentioned, cookies n' Karim spends most of the time showing his students how well he can code software (and to be real, he can) instead of bringing us to his level. In a real-time embedded systems class, he lectured and had assignments to implement a queue.! What he thought were 3-5 hour long labs turned into 15 hours (for everyone).

Karim's teaching skills are less than adequate. Spends most of the lecture explaining to the floor of the room as opposed to engaging with the class. When consulted about various concepts he either doesn't seem to know what what you're asking about, doesn't have a clear way to answer your question, or makes you more confused. unhelpful textbook!

How 'bout a story. A friend of mine and I were in his class after over 2 weeks going over diodes. He got so lost in the details that my friend still didn't know what a diode actually did. At that moment, I taught him more in 2 minutes than he had been taught in 2 weeks. Really awful.

This was supposed to be a design patterns class.. What did he teach (if you could even call it teaching)? Physics, linear algebra, parsing things, and a lot about helicopters. Do not take a class from him. All he likes doing is reinventing the wheel. And he LOVES parsing stuff. WHY WHY WHY! Useless professor. JUST DON'T DO IT

Honestly I think I would have rather been taught by a monkey. This guy couldn't teach a fish how to swim. Despite being an engineer, he spends his time teaching theory. In a design class, all we did was code and do physics. Seriously, physics. Karim is obsessed with the subject. He has unrealistic expectations of students and marks hard. Good luck

Don't look forward to your classes with Karim. Design project is super hard to get thru alone. Really learn PID after 50 hours of the proj though. Fair final. Awful midterm. Definitely curved class marks.

This professor is completely unaware when his students have difficulty understanding concepts. He makes NUMEROUS mistakes each time he does example problems, even though they're already solved in the text. I can't speak to his engineering skills but he is an incompetent professor. I would NOT recommend this professor.
