Comment:
This is the best course I've ever taken. We did a series of theoretical "textbook" cases then finished the semester with a real-life financial analysis of an area business. Dr. Borden doesn't so much teach the class as organize and direct our work. In many ways this is the best "management" class ever -- even though it's a finance course.

Presents material very effectively and enthusiastically. Always available to help. Dr. Borden is a great professor -- among the very best I have had here at UNK. Plus, if you like Finance this is a fun course -- full of all kinds of really practical information. I learned a ton.

Excellent professor. Brought tons of enthusiasm into the classroom and got me excited to learn. Very knowedgeable and receptive to questions. Doesn't get offended when you question his views. Best professor I've had at UNK.

He is very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and wise. His teaching style is more for higher level students than for a portal class, but I enjoyed it anyway.

Dr. Borden is always prepared and enthusiastic. He does an excellent job of using current real world problems to help teach the material. While the material is difficult, assigned work helps tremendously. He always stimulates our critical thinking. I seriously learned a lot.

Dr. Borden expects a lot out of his students but this hard work and dedication is beneficial. He has real world experience that allows him to teach students relevant info w/o only teaching out of a text book.

There is more work in this class than your average portal class. There are readings required for each class, with random quizes. You can achieve an A if you put the work in. Exams are over class discussions and key points in the readings. Professor Borden has examples over all material and is very knowledgable on subjects.

Excellent real-world examples. Challenges his students to confront difficult problems and really stimulates learning. He's a GREAT finance teacher. He can relate the theory to the real world and teaches the best fundamental thing of life -- that "Nothing worthwhile comes easy."

Doesn't really teach you that much...pretty much tells stories all class period long and then expects you to know the material. Wouldn't be too bad of a class if he would teach instead of tell stories about how rich or successful is he is.

This guy gets a bad rap because he actually teaches you something and expects you to work hard. He knows his stuff and insists on hard work, but you'll learn more finance in a week than you will from anyone else in a year. He's tough but fair and (if you like the subject) very interesting.

He talks tough, but if you study and pay attention in class you can succeed. Be prepared though; not studying is not an option. I have yet to be bored in his class. The man is clearly brilliant and can relate nearly everything to a story or event that he has heard or been involved with.

Very smart, but he knows it!!! He's teaching style is approapriate for grad students, not for principles of finance students who may have no interest in finance.

He should instruct a Finance principles class, he does not teach the material a lot and tells you that he is not afraid to flunk 3/4 of the class and if you don't like it get the hell out!!!
