Wonderful Professor! Loved his class! Would have taken his classes again and again but then he retired. Very helpful. Classes were easy. Exams were easy. Passed the class with flying colors. Miss you Dr. Barker! One of the best professors I've ever had! Great sense of humor and knowledge of the french language.

He's a cute old man. He has lots of life stories that are really funny. I never read any of the books because we always discussed them in class. It would be better to read them but...the exams were easy if you paid attention at all in the class. He lets you revise your papers to try and get a higher grade. I loved him!

Wonderful professor! He is very clear in what he wants and he makes discussions interesting an humorous. Do not slack off though he does expect you to answer question during lecture. You do need to buy the books they are important since the entire class is based on the novels. He also gives you a chance for revision on all papers for a high grade.

Dr. Barker is a great professor. I enjoyed going to his class every day. It is an easy A as long as you show up and just try to pay attention. It would be nearly impossible to fail his class. Can redo papers for better grade. Would take him again!

Professor Barker is the one professor above all others that I will most likely keep in touch with after I graduate. He is extremely helpful if you ask for help, and he keeps his classes fun with a very laid-back attitude. The class was mainly review from high school for me, but that was my choice.

He is very patient and helpful, and he makes the class fun. Can be a tad bit of a jerk sometimes, but I don't think he means to. Will help you anytime,or just chat with you. He genuinely cares about his students! Tests aren't too bad if you pay attention and study. Didn't give us an evaluation to fill out, which I thought was weird. Good overall.

I love Dr. Barker. He's funny and his class is interesting... he's also very helpful. If you don't like a grade on one of your papers, he allows you to resubmit and average. Class can sometimes be dry, but he keeps it fun for the most part. Tests are easy. I would take him again in a heartbeat.

Dr. Barker is a wonderful professor! He is easy and EXTREMLY helpful. And on homework assignments if you get a grade you are unhappy with he will let you redo it and take the average of the two. He is also very funny and nice. I highly recommend him.

One of the best english classes I have taken at SVSU. Two tests, both are fill in the blank and essay, and 4 papers. 3 of which you are allowed to resubmit for a better grade. I learned a lot about French Literature and culture. I would recommend this class to anyone who needs a world lit course.

Dr. Barkers is da MAN. I've had many many French classes as French is my major. He's smart, interesting, and funny. His French is crystal clear, and so easy to understand. If you ever have a choice in professors in the French Dept. pick Barker's classes. You won't regret it.

Dr. Barker is the greatest. Interesting and funny. Very personable in the classroom and out. Knowledgeable in his field and history of French speaking countries. Picky about grammar and sentence structure. Hard grader of papers. Not very open to new ideas regarding literature. Overall good teacher
