Comment:

Dr. Byleen is very smart and knows what he is talking about. His lectures are pretty comprehensive but he can sometimes get too mathematical and won't make sense to non-math people. Take advantage of his help. I would not recommend taking this class if you are not good at word problems.

He's a very good teacher but I'm horrible at math. The material was very difficult for me, but I know that generally the grades in the class were very good. As far as I know he does not curve the grades. His quizzes and tests cover the most basic principles he teaches. Nice guy, I'm taking him for Calculus next semester.

If you do bad in this class it's your own fault. Class isn't mandatory and he doesn't check homework. But if you do go to class and do the homework you will do well. GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS especially after a test. He really helps. Good teacher. It's calc so what do you expect?

Karl Byleen is the best math teacher I've ever had. His lectures are extremely clear and he tells you exactly what you need to know for the quizzes and exams. If you're a student who will do all the assignments, show up to class, and go to his office hours if you have any questions, then you're getting an A.

Karl is okay. The class is required for business majors, and I ended up with a C, but its my fault. DO THE HOMEWORK NO MATTER WHAT! this was my mistake, and why I ruined my grade for the semester. Karl is a good guy, helpful, and knows his students names! Go see him in office hours and to the homework and you'll be fine.

I love this prof! He is so incredibly nice and he makes the material CRYSTAL CLEAR. He is better than most of my high school professors! He's a really genuine guy and not above helping you with even the smallest problems like your calculator. I can truly say take this professor because I'm taking him again for calculus!

I love Dr. Byleen! I struggled so much with this class and failed the first few exams/quizzes but he helps and LOVES improvement & doing well on the final exam will make your grade alot better. For instance,if you are getting a D in the class and then get a B on the final he will most likely give you a B in the class no matter what.GO IN TO SEE HIM

Really nice guy. Pretty good teacher. Very helpful when asked questions before or after class. Always stopped lecturing if someone had a question. Not too difficult of material, and tests weren't bad. Small guy but super smart (writing the some of the book and all) and has a sweet nickname: Mighty Mouse. Small but smart!

very knowledgeable about the subject. always there to help whenever you need it. Got an A in the class, so he obviously knows what he is doing. Would recommend this teacher to anyone who wants to be challenged and wants to learn about Calculus. Best decision I ever made to take Byleen.

Math 70 was pretty easy. 71 is a moderately difficult but Byleen offers times that you can go in and get extra help. Very helpful and nice guy to talk to.

If you're not good at math or have trouble understanding it DO NOT GET HIM. he is really nice but he goes really fast through the material. Tests are short and there are no trick questions or anything but if you don't know what he's talking about in the first place you have no chance.

He's so nice, but doesn't handle the large class well. He goes through problems quickly and explains them in more difficult ways than necessary. The material is faily simple and usually review for most students, yet i know many people struggled because the way he presnts material sometimes is confusing.

Nice little man, but I found him to be an awful teacher. If math has not always been your best subject, I highly recommend looking at a different teacher. Byleen goes through examples way too fast and is more worried about his sliding chalk boards going up and down than he is teaching the class. Nice guy but an awful teacher.
