Herr Zaenker is a wonderful professor! He has extensive knowledge of the literature he teaches, and his classes are fun to go to. He is very approachable, kind, and caring. He takes the time for every student, as not many do these days. He manages to engage students' interest, although medieval texts are not always easy. Definitely recommend!! :)

was able to captivate my interest in Germ lit even when I had no bckground in the GERM lang. loved how he provides diff handouts so that we can explore diff topics in both musc & germ. we did not solely rely on 1 text, but used many diff sources of info. even created CD's to compliment our readings. fieldtrip to QE theatre was absolutely amazing!

Prof. Z is not only full of humour and gentle, but he is also extremely considerate. Aside from being an excellent reference let. provider, he also tries to accomodate students' needs in terms of setting deadlines for assignments and presentations. He gives a very clear outline as to what we should expect on the final exam; even provides a model

I'd like to think Prof. Zaenker means well, but unfortunately this does not make a good prof. I agree that he does NOT take criticism well and is not very understanding. Though he is knowledgably he has trouble grasping why a student would have difficulty learning a second language.

I was prof. Zaenker's undergraduate and graduate student for many years, and I am truly surprised at the bitterness of this forum. I greatly enjoyed all of his classes because of their academic value and prof. Zaenker's wonderful sense of humour. I greatly recommend all of his courses. Medieval literature has never been so sexy!

The last comment is also absurd in that the student(?) assumes that he or she is omnipresent. Not ALL of us have great Zaenker stories. Not ALL of us are blindly in love with him. And one more thing-he cannot deal with negative criticism. Let's see how long it takes big brither to delete this one.
