Introduction to Public Speaking must be taught by this amazing professor. She creates friendly and trustworthy environment inside the class. No mid terms, no finals, no quizzes, all you need to do is SPEAKING! She gives powerful and inspirational feedbacks, helping to improve your public speaking. The best professor ever!

Katharina is an absolute beauty. She's super helpful, and is willing to devote time and effort into your academic career. She knows how to help, and she's always willing to do so. One of the best English teachers viu has to offer. Always fair and understanding, never judges, with proper explanation and outline on how to improve next time.

Katharina is one of the most knowledgeable people I have ever met. She deeply cares about what she teaches she is bursting with enthusiasm. She does not give out easy marks, but if you talk to her about it she will clearly explain what she wants. I went from a B to an A+ in my first class with her. She totally changed my academic world. Love her

Katharina Rout is a "hard" Prof - but I respect and thank her for that. She pushed us to learn and strive for more. Isn't that what we are here for? I highly recommend taking a course from her. Look below the surface and connect your dots with what she is providing in her lectures and you will learn so much from her.

Katharina is definitely my favorite English prof. She has been incredibly helpful in all aspects and wants you to do well. Run any and all your ideas for assignments by her, as she will provide you with a lot of feedback. She may be a hard marker but if you always got A's then it wouldn't push you to do better.

If you care about your grades--don't take a class with Katharina. I'm planing on going to grad school and her lack of communicating what she wants (or what we are to learn) has cost me a lot. My A+'s in other courses will not get me ahead--they will only make up for the lack I've bought in this course. So disappointed. She is unwilling to help too.

I have absolutely no idea how and why other students enjoy her teaching, though some do so maybe her teaching (or lack thereof) style is appropriate to some. Of those who like her I'm not sure any of them can list what they've learned from her. She does not teach. You are expected to guess what she wants. She's inconsistent. We taught our own class

Katharina started out to be one of my favourite profs, but eventually become one of my most dreaded. I despised going to class with her and eventually dropped the course because of the inability to keep up with the standards that she had continually changed as each week went by. Very hard prof to please.

Katharina is one of the most amazing, intelligent, open-minded and progressive professors I have had to date. Do not simply listen to first year reviews-- As an English Major I would consider myself lucky to have every class taught by her. Helpful, intelligent and open to learning. An incredible person and professor. Some of my best classes!

Did not understand her instructions if/when she gave them. Very hard marker. Hard to meet her expectations, not because it's university level, just her expectations are too much. Wouldn't recommend anyone to take her class.

Comment:

Her assignments are unclear and her expectations are unrealistic. She is unfocused, doesn't give good lectures, plays favorites and is insistent upon having her students submit along with their research paper all their notes in paper form. This is redundant and wasteful and a ridiculous exercise for fourth year students. Avoid her.
