I really love Professor Katherine Halvorsen; she takes organized notes and you do not even need to read the textbook if you have her notes. She is definitely caring and supportive not only in academic study but also in personal life. I agree that she might be tough on certain points but as long as you put effort into class, there's nothing hard.

Katherine Halvorsen is a warm and caring person, she was so supportive even though I was struggling. Accessible outside of class and takes the time to really explain things to you. Very textbook heavy, very lecture-y. Doing the homework and coming to class are super important too.

She does not teach what will be on quizzes and tests as they are on the quizzes/tests, which is really unhelpful. She also can't teach in general. She also treats our class as of we were a bunch of middle schoolers since we are in an intro level course, which is incredibly frustrating. There is a lack of respect for her students.

I love this woman. She is an amazing teacher, freaking adorable, knows her stuff, and genuinely cares about her students. She can seem a little scary at first, but trust me, she's sweet as pie. Made me want to be a math major!

God help you if you have to use rstudio for her class. Grades very strictly and doesn't always teach you all of the material on the exam - but she will deny this if you confront her. Taught us practically none of the material required for the analysis of the semester-long project. Barely went beyond high school stats. Nice person, can't teach.

Professor Halvorsen is pretty disorganized, and he lectures are difficult to stay engaged in. The homework is graded unfairly, but the tests are ridiculously easy. If you want to come away with a clear understanding of statistics, be prepared to teach yourself.

She is a very kind, caring woman, and she is willing to take time to work with her students. However, the class I took could be very boring if you were not really interested in the material itself, and her lectures did not always explain things clearly the first time. If you meet with her, she will help you, though. Love her, but not the class.

She is probably the nicest woman in the world, and definitely one of the kindest at Smith. She cares very much for her students. Unfortunately, her lectures don't help you do the homework, and you'll be mystified the majority of the time. Pretty easy tests, but...ugh. Love her as a person, but she just isn't a good professor.

One of the worst classes I've taken at Smith. We were given a syllabus on day one with the homework assignments up until the end of the semester. But she fell behind in the second week and refused to adjust the assignments. So you had to teach yourself the material to do the hw and on top of that she would require you to go to her boring lectures
