So I'm not a gov major (which I figured out while taking this class) but Rahman is the absolute sweetest and so excited about the topic. Super kind and caring (I won't lie, I almost cried in her office and she was very sweet about it). Easy easy class--I barely read the whole semester and it's fine.

Comment:
Great class if you're into deeper discussions of the assigned readings. It can be a lot of reading to do at one time, but really you only have to do them once a week before class and then you'd be fine. Overall a fairly normal professor and straightforward class.

Rahman is really passionate about International Politics and super smart... but doesn't organize notes at all on the board which makes it really hard to study for exams later. There are no papers though and only a Midterm and Final

Rahman is a great professor. She is always open to talk about anything: politics, dogs, or the actual class. The guidelines on her assignments are not always clear, but she's a more relaxed grader as long as you put in effort. Her lectures are not mandatory to pass, but she will start taking attendance if people regularly skip.

Comment:
Though the topic itself could be very try, Professor Rahman turns her lectures into stories that were very easy to listen to. She also inspires students to follow their individual passions with regards to international law, rather than forcing students to stay within a particular topic.

Professor Rahman is a very intelligent woman, but as interesting as I found her lectures, she talks way too fast and note-taking was a nightmare. She's extremely helpful if you ask her things, but her teaching style is very unorganized and I had no idea how to study for tests. Her study guides are also not helpful at all.

Rahman is a very nice lady. She's incredibly knowledgeable about her what she teaches. The downside is she talks really fast and doesn't write anything down; it makes taking notes difficult. If you're ever confused go talk to her separately. She'd be more than happy to help.

She is very helpful in answering questions and offering clarification. The class is less about memorizing random facts and more about piecing together thoughts and history about IR. Very interesting class. I felt like I actually learned something that will be beneficial in the long run.

Professor Rahman is a really nice, sweet lady and she is incredibly intelligent. Her tests and assignments weren't bad (tests were essay/short answer), but her teaching style is very hard to follow. She speaks quickly and you have to try hard to get everything down. Her study guides for tests weren't very helpful. Readings and due dates were vague

I had her for Int'l Politics and Int'l Law. Not easy by any means, but you will learn more in that class than anything else you ever take. Probably the smartest educator I've ever had. Great command of material. Moves at a fast pace, which could be a plus or a minus. Reading isn't necessary to do well, but you may want to do it just to keep up.

Granted, Professor Rahman has a unique, fast-paced lecturing style, but if you can learn to take notes in her class, you will be amazed at how much you learn. As a person, she's wonderful and funny, and more than willing to help you understand. Go to her office with questions. Come to class prepared. The reading load is intense, but you'll manage.

Somewhat confusing lecturer and seems to just throw a ton of information at you quickly. Torrential downpour of reading if you actually do it all. However, she is extremely helpful outside of class, and is a fair grader who lets you know what you need to know for the tests. Also, don't talk while she's lecturing. She will yell at you.

Very passionate and helpful professor- assignments can be vague and grading on midterm a little harsh. has a tendency to ramble on and on and make asides which can be funny but often distracting

Speaks VERY quickly-you best know some shorthand! No computers in class. Rough tests, study guides are vague, but really help if you plan to cont. in IR/Intl Gov. Readings & text are VITAL-extra on [2] exams she doesn't go over. SO helpful-always answers emails and questions in office hours. Awesome person, be sure to talk to her outside of class.

LOVED this class! You have to work very hard and attendance is taken at most sections but it's worth it. Study the extra readings for tests and take detailed notes in class. She knows so much. If you go to her office hours she will explain anything. Wonderful professor!

She is an awful lecturer! She is all over the place and I cannot follow a thing she says. The mid-term was ridiculously hard for a GER class and her study guide is completely useless. She assumes that we know more than most students actually do about past international events. Stay away from this professor at all costs!!!!

She is an awesome person, really friendly and definitely willing to help. However, her lectures are all over the place and a series of questions rather than solid material. Weird grading habits and prompts and study guides never seem to actually prepare you or let you know what is coming.

She talks very fast, which was fine for me, but bothers some people. Minimal effort resulted in a A-. Seems stand-offish at first, but is actually really nice and enthusiastic about the subject.

2 tests, and a few out of class assignments. Not too time demanding unless read textbook. Textbook would probably guarantee A, never read it and got B. Lectures= hard to follow. Very kind and willing to help, also very excited and tries to have fun. Don't miss class.

She may appear a bit standoffish at first, but as you get used to her you realize she's really nice, SO intelligent, and a wonderful professor. Her lectures are really interesting but hard to follow because she talks so fast. It's really helpful to have a friend to compare notes and study with. Tests are hard to prepare for, but she grades fairly.
