Comment:

Of 7 online courses I've completed, this one was the most unorganized. The blackboard format used was all over the place/not very user friendly. Felt like I had to do a lot of digging just to find due dates and assignment instructions. I also didn't appreciate having to write a 1500 word annotated bibliography for a 6 pg research paper. Tedious BS!

I enjoyed writing the various assignments that were given. I was always out in left field from the rest of the class but that was accepted by Mrs. McWilliams. I was highly entertained by the research project. If you are an English person, it should be easy. If you are not(instead maybe more a math/sci. person), then it would be more of a challenge.

I think she is a good professor. She does make you write her way, but that's because her way is what will be expected at a University. I have an A in her class and I didn't put much work into it. I was hoping to be challenged more and her lectures are often very boring and pointless. Other than that she is a very sweet lady. This class is an easy A

I relied on this website to find a good English instructor and instead I find one who is extremely subjective. Her grading is based on how she thinks writing should be and not on what the discipline actually teaches. She is nit picky and blunt in her criticism instead of explaining things clearly to help you understand. Not recommended.

Helpful teacher, but to get the A you'll have to write "her way." Her grading is not easy, but she allows you to revise some of the essays (which helps your grade). She gave me B's on one essay only because I did not choose the prompt she liked! I thought that was unfair, but other then that her online class is very CLEAR!!

One of the best teachers I have ever had, and that's great considering I've never seen or met her in my life. The online course is great. Just do the assignments, partake in the discussions and you should have no problem getting a good grade. She's great at answering any questions and is very organized! Take her class!

She's clear, to the point, nice, and understanding. We read a lot from handouts, textbook, and wrote journals message board posts. Yet, none of the work was difficult. The course might be easy to people who are familiar with movies, but its something totally new for others who aren’t. Regardless, the course is interesting and McWilliams is great!

I took this class online and it was very interesting. The topics all have to do with media and popular culture so it is easy to write about. The papers are pretty easy and you get a chance to revise 2 of them. The research paper at the end is fun but it takes a lot of time. Take this class its fun!

She tries to make you write essays her way, despite years of successful writing your way. For example, I would get top scores on my final drafts, but get knocked because I didn't turn in 3 rough drafts. Every writer is different, and if I prefer to make corrections as I go, I should not be penalized if the final product is exceptional.
