This class took up all my available time outside of my other classes. There was so much reading that was expected and the quizzes tested you on small details that could easily be missed. The exams are weighted very heavily and there is no chance to make up bad grades. This class stressed me out way more than I was expecting it to.

Online class is awful. Very tough grader on papers. Midterm and Final are VERY heavily weighted, you could easily get a 100 on all other tests by simply reading the material, and still bomb the midterm and final, which are worth nearly 50% of your grade. I would NOT take this class online with her, she is absolutely not involved and is no help.

Katrina never answers emails back until a day or two later, and when she does it is a one-word email. I asked her what to do to receive a good grade and she told me that I was doing fine even though I was not. Do not take her PSY 250 class online it is terrible!

The professor is a very tough grader. Her lectures are okay. She will give extra credit but not much. The class needs studying and solving practice problems and is not easy.

If you have the misfortune of having to partake in a class (online or in person) with Professor Rhymer, I strongly urge you to withdraw, drop, or do not attend. Never, in 21 years, have I met an educator who cares so little about their students, her course, and education as a whole.

Show up and actually pay attention and it's possible to get an A on every test and assignment. She is great at teaching the material step by step and always checks to make sure you understand

She was definitely a tough grader. She didn't care if you showed your work or not, wrong was wrong. No partial credit or anything. Towards the end of the course she would get snippy with students when we asked her questions. Her study guides didn't really prepare us for the exams. No curved grades. No slack in this class.

This relates to the online version. I found Dr. Rhymer to be tough but fair - no late submissions and all projects/exams MUST be completed by 11:59 p.m. Friday night. She provided excellent demonstrations of the most difficult equations and responded promptly to all questions (within a day or two.) I'm a 4.0 student and I worked for the B+.

Taking this course online will NOT be easy. You need to dedicate time to read each chapter and take your own notes. She gives her notes per chapter which help with the assignments. She also gives practice tests to help study for the exam, use them. This is a difficult course to be only 8 weeks and it's all on you since she doesn't teach.

Here is the issue. If you are a psy major w/ stats/experimental psy as your forte, she will love you & vice versa. Otherwise, she treats you like an idiot when you try to ask for help & will not go out of her way to help you understand any of it, even if you attend class. Her words to me once was, "I shouldn't have to help you. its in the notes"

It's really difficult to learn anything that will help you on the exams from the 4 assignments she gives you. The homework took a very long time because the lecture notes were horrible. Stats isn't an easy class, but she made it impossible to learn anything.

All around BAD class. Professor contacted students once to welcome them to the class. She made lecture notes that had nothing to do with the exams, good for homework (Class20% HW, 80% exams) . She graded last minute, no feedback on exams or homework. She never made contact with students, does not do lectures, or do any teaching. Don't take! Hard.

Pros: Creates her own lecture notes for chapters covered, gives 20 extra credit, allows blackboard resubmits if you resubmit before the due date, some homework feedback. Cons: Lecture notes are hard to understand due to bad grammar and symbols that are not compatible on Mac computer, hard and time consuming HW, hard tests, grades weeks after due.

I am in love with this class! She made it so interesting and my favorite class at CMU so far. YES, you have to put work into it. . . but you will learn a lot if you put time into it. She was very clear on what to study for exams. She is an awesome professor and really knows her stuff! Definitely take Dr. Rhymer!

Class is pretty easy. Rhymer is a terrible professor when it comes to mistakes. She won't respond to emails regarding homework or SPSS. Blackboard assignments can only be opened once and after that you can't submit again and she doesn't even care.

In class she tries to break things down so that people understand it but the hw mine as well be tests which i find ridiculous. You should be able to see if you get a question wrong so that you can fix it for the next problem. the SPSS assignments are annoying. Got an A on every exam but didnt do great on hw. Shes also rude.

She is a nice lady but bad prof. You want help on your hw, well you can't get any. Though you can drop 3 HW assignments she wont help you if you dont know how to do them. She helps one on one but I wouldn't take her again.

She explains stats so that you understand it. Homework was mandatory but you need to get as much practice in as necessary. Attendance is not mandatory but the notes are so useful. The math problems are not online like most math courses, so you need the book. I would recommend her to anyone.
