U will run class. No exams, but hmwk takes hours. Not what I expected. only 1 guest speakr, group projs, fight 4 participation points, no documentaries. Age disconnect nd on a power trip. Will force you 2 meet with her 2 micromanage, not 2 help nd has yelled at class nd is not embarrassed 2, loses the point in rants. easy if u can put up with it.

This class is the hardest class I've ever taken. In order to pass you must 1. Come to EVERY CLASS 2. Take very good notes 3. Study at least 2 weeks in advance. 4. STUDY STUDY STUDY! Everything she says is going to be on the test. You have to remember definitions verbatim and you must participate if you want to earn full participation points.

Class is hard as hell, teacher was very arrogant. She needs to loosen up. Tests were way to difficult. Half my class had to repeat her. Moody and smart-mouthed

1. Show up to every class. 2. Take exceptional notes. (This is 95% of the class) 3. Study those notes 2 weeks before test. 4. YMMV, but that should insure an A or B.

Worst teacher. Right up there with jack waber. She's hostile and does not respect students. Picks favorites and if you're not one of them you should just drop. The tests are written for those who already have a law degree and if you don't use her exact wording then she'll mark it wrong.

This class is not as bad as everyone says. Dr. Kauffman is one of the best professors that I have ever had. There are three test which are 90% of our grade and the 10% comes from participation. You must participate and read because it will help you in the end. Stay on top of everything and study well for each examine. You will learn a lot!

Dr. Kauffman is an extremely helpful professor. She was so willing to work with me when I was nervous about the tests. She is a completely different person during her office hours as opposed to in the classroom. She's more laid back&welcoming in her office. You need to go to class&write everything she says. Participate and study weeks in advance!

I got 3 test scores of 95,l89.93 somehow managed a C I showed up and participated in every class. I would argue certain things she presented as they were clearly misrepresented to push her liberal agenda. ie. the case involving a girl who shot up a mall. (she labels the weapon incorrectly and talks for what seems like forever on the banning of assault rifles.) Read the article when it is passed around.

If your smart, you can pass her classes. She hates when people give dumb answers, so if your stupid, do not participate. This is not a class where you can slack, you need to put effort into studying and you will do fine on the exams.

The class itself is very easy and straightforward. It is almost like a therapy session once a week. You meet good people, like really get to meet them on a personal level. HOWEVER, this class is the most writing intensive class I have ever taken even more than a writing emphasis (don't know why it isn't). Do not take with more than 15 credits.

YOU NEED TO :: go to class, write down everything she says, start studying weeks before the exam, and know the definitionselements WORD FOR WORD. She gives you all the materials you need to do well, so use them and stop complaining about how hard it is. Take advantage of this opportunity to learn. I ended up getting an A.

CRJ 300 is the toughest class I ever had. I studied for weeks and still managed to fail miserably. Her tests made me want to drop out of college. Needless to say it must of been my own fault I failed her class because a lot of other people passed with B's....

Dr.Kauffman is an extremely smart woman and very interesting. She makes her opinion know which can we a little annoying if you don't agree with her. Best advice is to study literally everything that comes out of her mouth.

Best class I have ever had at WCU. Dr. Kauffman makes class interesting and you will learn a lot. How to get an A: Go to every class, write down everything she says even if it may not sound important, make note cards for every definition/rule/ or concept that she gives you and memorize them WORD FOR WORD. I kind of want to be a lawyer now.

If I had to recommend this course to anyone I say take it. This is an easy A course if you attend all classes and do what is expected. participation is huge part of your grade. If your a person that participates you'll do fine in this course. This course is based on everyday life experiences that people go through.

If you're looking for an easy class this is NOT it. If you want to learn a lot about Law- this is perfect for you. Her lectures are extremely important. You cannot miss a single class. Your note taking must be extremely keen, and you will want to pay close attention to the examples she gives. Yes her tests are HARD but they do CHALLANGE you!

Pretty sure this professor is completely insane. Asking her a question and then seeing the look she gives 90% of the time (like she doesn't know why you're asking it) is quite possibly the most frustrating thing in history. If there is a different professor available, please take them over Kaufman.
