Wu is a fine teacher. If you pay attention and try to dissect what he's saying, then you might get something out of it. However, you don't really need to. This class was just plugging numbers into formulas. I can't fathom how anyone thinks it's hard. I could've only gone to review and test days and still gotten an A.

Honestly you can get by this class by never showing up to lecture and just studying the book/his powerpoints. Not very good at explaining things and not a great lecturer. Doesn't care about attendance, assigns hw that he doesn't collect but I found it useless to do. Grade is only based on tests and quizzes. Tests have the quiz questions on them

Professor has a strong accent but still understandable. Expects you to know information beforehand. Assigns homework but doesnt collect it for credit. Lectures are on slides every day with a quiz every 10 days and a couple tests throughout the semester. Grade is based solely on quizzes, tests, and final. Prepare to take lots and lots of notes.

I really enjoyed taking Stats with Wu because he made his tests super clear and to the point. He told you what he would would be on the tests, which all ended up being material on the final. There are four tests, a final, and around 8 quizzes (he drops two quizzes). He also gave a chance for extra credit.

Comment:
He has a heavy accent so he is hard to understand and he only gives one example for each type of problem. Homework is assigned but is not turned in for credit. If you have taken stats before this class will probably be a breeze but if you've never taken it, it can be pretty difficult.

He's got very well regimented lectures, and often ends class early when he finishes them. He could stand to explain some things better in my opinion, so it's important to practice the concepts he teaches, especially before quizzes.

Not sure why so many people have given Dr. Wu such good ratings. His lectures are incredibly boring and he teaches as if he is explaining the material to other statistics teachers, making it impossible to understand. I have an A in his class, but only because I studied over ten consecutive hours the day before each test. Worst teacher I've had.

He is great at teaching some of the topics, and others not that great at all. He does allow you use a half sheet of formulas for each test and on the final he allows you to use a full sheet, which is nice. He sometimes likes to rush which is a bad thing about him. Overall easy class. Also his test reviews are a waste of time, stay home.

Wu is a great professor. He teaches you exactly what you need to know to pass. Homework is worth 15% of overall grade, which is easy points, on My Math Lab but you do not need to re-purchase if you have taken Math 75. He lets you have a half sheet for every test. I would definitely recommend taking him for any of the Calculus series.

took this class over the summer. easiest A ever, and that's because of wu. he teaches straight out of the book, hw is optional. test/quiz problems come from examples he does in class. ask questions and he will clarify! highly recommend taking him if you want to actually LEARN the material, really hard not to pass any of his classes.

took Dr. Wu two semesters ago. very easy class - tests/quizzes based off of in class examples so the hw was unnecessary. teaches out of book, hw is optional. great professor. if you're not taking wu, you're doing it all wrong.

This class is a breeze if you show up to class all the time. If you can understand the PowerPoint lectures then the exams will be easy. There is optional homework that does help when reviewing for the exams.

I failed once before, retook it with Wu and felt SUPER confident! His exams are straight up exactly like the HW problems he assigns (not graded/mandatory!) and he will stop class to explain things you don't understand in class. His quizzes are so simple, sometimes it is exactly like the HW problems if you take time to do them. TAKE HIM!

Definitely the best professor I have ever had for calculus. I didn't attend class often, didn't do any homework, and ended up with an A. Grade is completely tests and quizzes.

There were eleven quizzes, 5 exams, and the final. The quizzes are very similar to his exams and he is quite fair with the material he puts on the tests. He is definitely willing to answer any questions you may have and doesn't grade or check hw. His lectures were often long and boring but his examples were relevant to his quizzes.

The class itself is hard, but he teaches well. If you have questions, just ask. He even encourages you to ask when you don't understand. He goes over some examples on the powerpoint in class, so if you miss out, you might not be able to do it. Homework isn't mandatory, but it helps you know the material.

Definitely the best math professor I've had at state. Tests and quizzes are not difficult and if you have a problem with homework, which is not graded, he answers in class. Definitely wish he taught every level of math.

Dr. Wu is very nice however, very reserved in many instances. It's up to you to ask questions if you're lost. He's also very fair with the material he puts on exams.

Dr. Wu is very straight forward. He makes the material as easy as possible to understand. His test and quizzes are from his notes and homework. Homework is from the book and isn't mandatory but is really relevant to for the quizzes and test. It's what got me an A in the class I highly recommend him for any math class that you can take with him.

Best math teacher I've taken at State. He is clear when teaching. He has an accent but it's not too bad. He lets you use cheat sheet. But if you don't study, of course the cheat sheet is useless. Quizzes and exams are almost the same as examples on notes. He doesn't make it too hard. It's only hard if you don't study well enough.
