Comment:
The classes were horrible and he was INCREDIBLY dry and boring. I understand that the stuff is the basis of everything in psychology, but everything was so dull that it was hard to pay attention. Make sure you go the the labs, even though they are optional. You'll need them for exam time.

Dr. Horton is the best professor I have ever had, not only is his door always open, but his best interest truly lies with the students. Both research methods are extremely difficult courses, but you need to understand them for the rest of your psychology career, and he makes you do this. Don't be scared by the horror stories of his exams!!

Comment:
ps295 is not that bad but ps296 is brutal. You will think you understand things in class, be able to do all his examples fine and then BOOM them ridiculous questions on midterms, where you don't even know what he is asking. Therefore what is tested doesnt reflect what was taught in class/lab!!

he is a very well organized teacher and is willing to try and help you if you ask for it, but he makes his midterms and exams so damn hard that he must just hate everyone and want to see his students do miserably. He words his questions in a way that make it very chalenging to understannd.

Hard, but necessary concepts. He doesn't try to WEED out psych majors as ppl say, it's all material you MUST GRASP in order to continue in psych. If you dont understand, help is available.

If you were interested in psychology before taking this course you won't be once your finished. His lectures are great, but the material is bland and his tests are awful. It really seems he is only interested in getting as many people out of psychology majors as he possibly can.

Not a bad person, but tests are VERY unfair. Takes it upon himself to weed people out of psych majors.

Hard to judge a stats prof. At first I found him a bit intimidating, I think because he is very sharp, but he's actually a really nice guy. He is definitely in my top 5 profs ever list. I didn't know him that well but I always felt like he was rooting for me. Hey,who's that guy on the Harley?

His class was the most unfair rating of my ability ever! He marks EXTREMELY hard and expects too much from of his students on the exams. On the other hand, he was easy to talk to and made himself available for students.

If you are fantastic at math you will love him. He has a misconception that everyone is in Psych to do research and that stats is GOD. He is one of those "well meaning" prof's who is too smart to understand why you are having difficulties.
