Dr. Keith Sverdrup is not only an exceptional teacher, he's the winner of major teaching awards, and singularly one of the finest professors I've ever had. Widely respected in his field, he has authored or co-authored several books on oceanography and geology. Hes funny, entertaining and a really Gneiss guy. It's hard not to feel his passion.

This is the easiest natural science credit I have ever taken. The book is expensive and the fee for taking it online is a little annoying but you will get an A in this class guaranteed. The modules are easy to get through in about 20 minutes and you can take the quizzes as many times as you want. Best class for an effortless A.

Lectures were difficult to follow, usually I was not sure of exactly what we needed to study. I went to class every day and sat in the front row of a huge lecture hall but I only managed to get a C. If you are not very interested in the material it is hard to pay attention. Having said that, he is really funny and tries to make it interesting.

If you love your GPA, TAKE THIS CLASS. It covers a science GER and is ludicrously easy. I mean, like, hysterically easy. A sixth grader could get an A. Heres the deal: You must pass 12 10-question quizzes, one per chapter, and you can retake each one as many times as possible for an A. EASY! Cant really comment on the prof cause Ive never met him

This was the easiest class I have ever taken in my college career. I took it online, so the way it's set up is that you listen to the lecture and read the book every week and you have unlimited tries to take a quiz until you pass it with an 8+ out of 10. There is no final, midterm, or homework. It was amazing.

His notes are kind of hard to follow and are not presented as easily as other professors. Lectures are rather boring, but if you use the online site listed in the book, you can do fairly well on exams. With a little effort, this class can be pretty easy. If you need to fulfill a science requirement, I'd recommend this class.

I took this class as a science requirement, and now actually find myself interested in oceans. His lectures are well prepared and presented nicely. He is funny, and keeps the class engaged. Having had other big science lectures, i can say that he is better than most.

Very nice guy - if you attended the lectures, a guaranteed A in the class ... if not you would still be ok as long as you read from the book - semester project very easy, very clear and keeps you engaged, overall an easy science requirement!

Took this class the first year I attended UWM. It became the reason I decided to major in geology. If you need a science credit then I highly recommend this course. (It's also being taught [as of Fall '05] by Margaret Fraiser, who is great as well).
