I had Keith for History of Night in 1011 and it was honestly one of my favourite classes. Allows students to pursue their own interests in the final paper. Gave lots of help and thoughtful feedback. Great prof and very kind person.

A fantastic prof. One of the friendliest, most approachable, and most intelligent people I've had the pleasure to meet. His lectures are consistently interesting and meticulously well planned, he certainly knows what he is doing. History of Night has fascinating seminars, and you can make nearly any topic work for the major paper. Batman? Yes.

I'm surprised to see some of the negative comments. Keith is a great prof! He makes classes engaging, and actually cares about the workload, organizing the schedule to benefit the students. He certainly CAN teach. One of the better teachers I've come across at Trent University. Seminars are great too. He knows how to generate interesting convos.

Walden is easily my favorite professor this year. His lectures are always interesting and easy to follow. The seminars are very useful as well as they touch on details that may not be covered in lecture. He's funnier than he's given credit for and that makes his lectures even better. I fully recommend this course to anyone in the History program.

LOVED this class. his lectures were to-the-point which was refreshing from other history classes. His seminars were well guided and were suprisingly enjoyable considering many history seminars can be quite dry and boring. absolutely loved this prof. would recommend this class or any other class of his to anyone!

Seems really nice but is not a good teacher. He doesn't seem to know much about any topic we discuss. For the fourth year class I'm taking he chooses broad non-academic books, and seems to be surprised by things that are common knowledge. Discussions are not in depth. I have learned nothing.

I would absolutely recommend this course and Keith! Lectures were always interesting and the topics were really diverse and fascinating. I didn't have Keith in seminar, so I don't know about his marking style. This was probably my favourite course I've taken within the history dept.

Prof Walden was a great teacher, and I was lucky enough to have him as a seminar leader. The bomb shelter demo and philosophical debate class will always be remembered and appreciated. So quick to give all the help he can as well.

In his quiet and thoughtful way Walden taught me how to read history and to write history. He had an intellectual openness and playfulness which allowed all of us to understand that past is not only about the political, and that story of power can be found in the most everyday places.
