Terrible class! I've had experience with several martial arts instructors and Badders is the only one that Ive had a bad experience with. The self defense techniques are overcomplicated and would get you killed. The only material worthwhile was the kicks. He is also extremely conceited and awful towards anyone who asks a question.

Sensei Badders was amazing. His humor is not for everyone, but I personally loved it. He really likes to get to know his students and makes it clear that they can come to him with everything. The only thing I had a problem with was it is hard to convert a physical class into a written test.

He gave me a B, do not take this class... Dude thinks he's Chuck Norris and the moves he teaches you will put you in jail if used in real life. He is by no means qualified to teach anything at the university level and is the cockiest guy I've ever met. This is supposed to be a credit filler class, seriously don't take it

Clearly knows what he is talking about. 1 pop quiz that he never grades, written final (as long at you know all the terms you will ace), and practical final. He never keeps you the whole class and is generally a nice guy. Make sure you know all the moves for the final because you have to defend yourself against him in a dark room!

Activieties were interesting, and explanation of principles sounded reasonable. However, Japanese terms are on the exam and most of what's in the written exam is to be self-taught, and are difficult. Final is physical assessment of doing defense moves and kicks. Not a difficult class to get B, but very difficult to get A.

The class itself was fun & imformative. However, this teacher made the class dreadful. He makes you feel like an idiot when you ask a question, even if its an appropriate one. You can show up/put forth effort, yet final grade based on whether he likes you or not. I wouldve had straight A's this semester if it weren't for him being so cocky.

If he were less aloof, the class would be much better. He knows what he is talking about and does NOT expect anything unreasonable from students. But if you're having problems he is difficult to talk to. Worth taking, but pass/fail because A's are difficult to achieve.

Attendance is mandatory. Class really isn't that hard. Just do as he says, respect him and he'll do the same to you. His sense of humor is probably lost on most people... but the class isn't that demanding if you put in the effort. Besides, what better way to start the morning than by kicking padded shields? I loved this class.

If you are a man, this is the easiest class ever. You show up, throw girls on the ground, take a midterm with some japanese terms, and then the final is him dimming the lights and bear hugging you from behind to see how you react. If you have ANY wrestling experience or know ANY Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, you will pin him in a second flat.

Great professor. Class attendance is absolutely mandatory he'll make this clear the first day of class. Grade is based 50% off of participation the rest comes from a pop quiz, the midterm, and the final. Make sure you participate in class. Be respectful and take what he says seriously and you'll do fine.

Badders, more like Badass...I can see why people on here talk crap about him, but seriously, who wants a P*ssy for a self-defense instructor?...it was fun and the guy knows his stuff...people let their egos get in the way

Why make it so difficult to get an A in a 2 credit class? So that only sensei can drink from the fountain of youth? No book, but try to follow along with notes as he explains a term by using the term. And don't try to ask any questions, he'll look at you like you're a retard and a waste of his time. It could've been a cool class...

Giant show off (clearly because he was picked on as a kid). Picks on the smaller guys to show how super awesome he is...(not). Clearly only teaches with interest in himself. Shows a move on a small kid then expects you to know if perfectly. If you miss the quiz (even if someone dies) no makeups. DONT TAKKEE

No homework, a midterm, pop quiz and final. You can miss 5 classes. He's rather pompous and not very helpful. If you can pass/fail the class. so for it. Otherwise screw this class, you can definitely find another much easier course. Grading method is very unclear.

Very cocky teacher. Can be quite cruel. Not gentle when demonstrating moves. He will hurt you. Grade is unclear. You won't know until it's submitted. Teaches you a lot of moves and expects you to know how to do them all perfectly. I prefer a teacher who is more interested in helping the students not showing off.

You will learn alot from this class. The teacher is nice but he tries to show off alot..like he'll throw a student to the ground to show a technique (gently does not hurt) but it will look really cool because he likes to show off what he DOES know. fun class... take it.

Do NOT take this teacher. He was horrible. No one ever wanted to go to class and he grades WAYYY to hard. i went to class everday and still go a C. The midterm was wayy to difficult and you need to know japanese. Why? I dunno... we wont ever use it on the streets. The final he grades WAYYY to hard. It wasnt that bad and we all thought we did good.

Great Teacher! Clear lessons, good tecniques, low stress enviornment. The more you are at class the better you will do. The final is nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be, but the midterm requires some studying, but even then its not too hard. I had a blast in this class!

Come to class... its pretty easy & fun. Study for the midterm (especially the Japanese words). He's pretty fair with grading but he does not like giving out A's. expect around a B, even with some effort put in. He's a really nice guy though!
