He is a perfect guy. So helpful instead of make you fail or receive bad mark helps and tries to teach the concept. Just impossible to describe wonderful guy cares about student and gives chances to students to participate and identify their mistakes I have never said it before but I hope he will never stop teaching.

Great Prof! Go to class and pay attention... Do ALL of his practice Exams/Quizzes he posts on his website (The exams are VERY similar to those). If you there is a 'course package' definitely buy it... All in all great prof and an easy 80%+.

Had him as part of the commerce program at cap(Comm 290/291). one of the funniest profs ive had to date. Yes, the class is boring at times..its statistics and quants, what do you expect? Marks fairly, but watch your notation! go to class and do the practice exams he posts online.

very discouraging in his teaching method, and a very stingy marker. his quizzes are harder than all of the practice material he puts out. DONT TAKE HIS CLASS IF U WANT A GOOD MARK.

Ken explains concepts very well, though not too helpful with questions in class, he's focused on the lecture. But helpful in the math lab. Important to do all the required exercises to keep up proficiency with the problems.

Comment:
SO irritating. His only technique: Ask a question and wait for someone to answer. But nobody wants to answer because it's either obvious (like subtraction!) or a clever "trick" question that we couldn't possibly know. Spends hours on the most obvious concepts, like taking two names from a hat without replacement vs with replacemen

Comment:
Don't take Ken if you need a professor to take care of your ego. This is a very easy class, almost boring, but I can see some students struggling. He is helpful but NOT in a nice, coddling way. Also, he is picky about notation because that's what he's teaching you! Pay attention, do the exercises, ask him questions, look at the old quizzes.

I took stats with him a couple semesters ago, and he turned me off of math completely. He makes you feel incompetent if you do not know the answer, and writes very discouraging comments on your quizzes. I've never struggled with math, until this class. It seems as though he would like to be retired...and probably should be.

I agree with a lot of the comments here. He is a hard marker and the course material is challenging. He does baby the class, but I think he does it in a good way. I like his passion and his teaching methods. No formulas are provided for exams but you are allowed to bring a cheat sheet which should offset his incredibly stingy marking standards.

you can tell ken is very passionate about what he teaches, however, he is not good at answering student questions - makes the student feel stupid for not knowing the answer. also, very hard marker, most of my exams/assg'ts had huge red "x's" and "NO'S!" all over them, which is very discouraging. he is a good guy though, and keeps class interesting

Good teacher but goes v-e-r-y slow especially since this is a course for "arts students." I am an arts student but with previous high school math experience so I found him going way too slow especially at the beginning. Take math 101 if you like that kind of teaching.

he's the hardest prof at cap! he takes marks off from tiny notation mistakes even though you got the answer. his classes are ok very exams and quizes are very hard and tricky.i studied for this class regularly but at the end i failed.i prefer boring but easy professors! ken is a nightmare!
