Grades tough, because he wants you to try harder. I like his class, it can be hard to grasp the programming concepts sometimes, but luckily the textbook is really good. He likes to crack jokes before class! If you need help with your assignments, you can bring your laptop to his office.

He's my favorite professor! He explains programming concepts very clearly and his projects are not very hard, you might have to think a little bit, but it's easy to get an 'A' if you follow the directions. Midterm #1 was hard, I didn't do so well, but he will drop your lowest midterm grade and replaces it with your best final grade.

Yarnall's foundations class had the absolute worst textbook, and given the math profs at lvc don't actually teach anything- having a decent textbook is crucial. Lots of hw but exams were fair. Overall you should avoid lvc's math department unless you like teaching yourself

I had absolutely no experience in comp sci when I took his JAVA and C++ courses, but he helped me a lot and had sooooo much patience with me. I'm sure anyone else would have told me to drop the class and run, but he was very lenient and helpful.
