HOLY COW one of the best professors I have ever taken. Kevin is knowledgeable on everything to do with German culture, and constantly cracks jokes the students actually enjoy. He gets to know his students as people, and can be your friend if you interact with him. The class itself was interesting, but a bit of relaxation class.

Nothing but good words for Kevin. He knows so much about the German language and I'm glad that Iowa State has him here to teach. Extremely hilarious and really wants his students to learn and grow. Some of the feedback given by him is hard to understand or read, but he is very approachable for clarification.

Listen up folks, this is the best German instructor I have had in my 8 years of taking German. He is going to make you critically think and analyze, and encourage you to make the most of your knowledge of the language. Very outgoing, most interesting person I have ever met (He'll tell you all his experiences). Great instructor, great person.

Great teacher. Doesn't follow a strict schedule, so if you need organization and can't live class-to-class. Super interesting lectures, he is so animated and the way he talks is kinda theatrical. Gives a lot of feed back, and really takes time to answer your questions. 10/10 would recommend

This was my first German class ever, and I really enjoyed it thanks to Professor Amidon. He encouraged questions about anything, even if we wouldn't learn about it until later semesters. He was very engaging and definitely made the class more exciting. The tests covered what we learned in class, and the assignments helped me to understand.

Herr Amidon is a beast at German. He combines history, linguistics, and literature and gives you information from all three perspectives. He doesn't have a very strict lesson plan, his lectures are fairly spontaneous, but he makes sure to cover the most important grammatical topics. He begins each class by opening up for questions and answers.

Kevin is great. Daily homework assignments that can get a little old after a while, but fun, no-pressure lectures and pretty simple quizzes and exams. He's funny, helpful, patient, and an extremely lenient and generous grader. Don't know the answer on an exam? Write "ich weiss nicht!" and you just may receive credit anyway... ;)

I took this class strictly because a friend recommended it. Amidon is so incredibly intelligent about what he teaches that even an average student like myself became interested. He is easily my favorite teacher now. I would absolutely recommend this class with Amidon teaching or any class he teaches.
