Dr. Thurbide was by far the most approachable prof I've ever had! He wants everyone to do well, but he's NOT just going to give away easy marks. Hard tests, I underestimated the tests. Labs weren't THAT bad, be careful though.

Very, very good at teaching analytical chemistry. Always willing to help you figure out what went wrong in the lab if you got a poor mark, and the tests/assignments are straight out of his notes. He also cracks a lot of jokes in lecture to keep those less enthused about analytical chemistry from falling asleep.

Dr.Thurbide is very good at what he teaches and it's clear he understands it well, considering he is an analytical chemist. Midterm was very very long and personally didnt have time to finish. That blew. Very worried for the final, since ALOT of material was covered. Labs are over rated as well. Good prof overall!

It took a while to realize that all he's doing is copying out the textbook examples, which arent always that clear. He's an OK guy but this course really needs changing. I mean whats the point in having lecture if he just reads the textbook to us.

If you study, and do the questions, you will do well in the course. The lab is another story, very difficult lab! But Dr. Thurbide is there to help you, not fail you. A very caring prof! And deserves a teaching award!

Has a tendency to mumble when he writes on overhead, but other than that tries to make a bad course look fun. Really appreciated the enthusiasm!
