Comment:

Kim Brown is a very good prof. Some overly-anxious students in the program don't like her because she doesn't respond to the abundance of unnecessary e-mails they send her. There's no grey area in stats and if you want an A in her class, learn the material rather than cry because not knowing it might keep you from getting a 4.0

Dr Brown is well-regarded in her classes for the most part, though she does put students on the spot (keeps us on our toes). Courses are slanted towards school-counseling...away from Higher Ed. but reflect her research interests. She is fair on tests but you must absolutely pay attention in class to succeed. Overall, she is a caring prof.

I had her for a counselor education masters level class Fall 2010. I am not good at math and she embarrassed me in front of the entire class when she called on me & I did not know the answer. Instead of helping me through it, she ridiculed me because I did not ask her for help earlier.

She seems like a nice woman, but after a week or so she starts to make favorites. These people she calls on the entire class, and it is like everyone else doesn't exist. She's biased, and marks everything she can wrong. Take her if you want to be stressed the entire semester.

Does not make herself available and requires other students to tutor and teach her students. Brown was the best professor I have had at WCU. The material can be difficult at times and the course is a lot of work but I learned a lot. She is caring and sweet and just a really great person. She has changed my views on education and I feel better prepared to teach because of her.

awesome teacher. She really cares if you understand the material and will go out of her way to help you. I recommend her ADHD workshop in the summer! It is very imformative.

she is one of the nicest professors. unfortunately her class is a waste of time. if you have ever taken stats, that will cover the first half of the year and the second half is some memorization and group reports. nice lady though. also very knowledgeable. some test questions can be a bit confusing

This class is a lot of work but Dr. Brown really helps you understand the material until you understand it. Work hard, and don't be afraid to ask questions b/c she is very helpful. When it comes to test 2 and 3, give yourself time to do them because they require a lot of work, time and effort. she was great.

good prof shes fairly clear with everything. it is a difficult class but if you do the work it is worthwhile. gives you some great adaptations for LD students. make sure you dont leave the take home tests to the last minute b/c they do take a while to finish

dr. brown is AWESOME. she knows what she is talking about and teaches it until everyone understands. i would definately reccomend her. she is nice and funny and always willing to help. One of the bes profs I have had.
