Had him for my lab. Super nice guy, very organized and always willing to help with anything. The lab itself is tedious and boring but he knows this and tries to make the best of it. Would recommend him for any bio class.

It wasn't until after I finished Eco & Evo that I realized how good of a professor Dr. Derrickson is. I won't lie, I was frustrated and overwhelmed towards the middle of the course but he was always super helpful during office hours. He makes you work for your grade but is excellent at explaining concepts. Definitely go to lectures and take notes!

I was in his lab. HORRIBLE lab class, but he's a great guy. I fall asleep in his lab lectures all the time. He is not my advisor, yet I go to him with many questions and he is happy to answer them.

Derrikson is a great professor to know. He will help you out with anything - bio related or not. The class was not a walk in the park, but definitely tolerable. The discussions were so funny, and I learned a lot! Great guy..recommend highly.

A tough class if you are not a biology major, but Derrickson is pretty cool. He is understanding and his tests are tough,but mostly straight from the notes. Lectures are boring and sometimes long, but he has many cool and funny stories to tell. Not a bad teacher at all.

Ecology, Evolution, and Biodiversity was a great class. Dr. Derrickson was always willing to help any student that needed help, he has a wicked sense of humor, and is really down to earth. I really enjoyed his class; I definitely would take him again.

kind of a wierd guy...really like the toilet humor and talking about sex. Class is interesting, but he doesn't teach material effectively, which makes it difficult to learn. Tests are really long. i'd consider another teacher for this course.
