Spends 30 minutes of every class on house keeping leaving little time for actual lecture. Statecraft simulation can be fun but is tedious. Lots of grades and they are all fairly easy. Overall a nice professor but can be rather hard to learn from.

Good professor, well known in the government department. The course did have a lot of reading involved and she does ask questions pertaining to the assigned reading. There were a lot of extra credit opportunities for the class. How the final grade was to be determined was clearly stated. Very nice women, available outside of the class room.

Best professor I have ever had. If you put the work in, you will have no problems. She is always willing to help, not just with class material, but anything involving your professional career. She makes learning dry uninteresting material rather enjoyable.

Dr. Bookmiller was very helpful and an extremely nice professor. I also had her and her husband for INTL 488. Although her statecraft simulation is no good if you have a sucky group, the rest of her class isn't too hard. Just do the readings for the Foreign Policy quizzes and study and you're good to go!

She can get off topic while going over what is to come, but she is a great professor. Listen to lectures and read what she tells you to read. As long as you do that, you'll pass. If you don't want to read, she will go over the reading. Just hope she doesn't call on you or someone is willing to speak.

She is an awesome professor. I would easily recommend her to anyone. Her class is not only easy but interesting. She tries very hard to make government be interesting and does it well. Take her class if you want to learn and do well. Just remember to do the assignments and study for tests. GREAT PROFESSOR!

Bookmiller is amazing. She is one of the best professors I've had. She made me want to take all her government courses. I loved the Statecraft simulation we did. She's very knowledgeable and helpful with school and personal issues. She's very understanding. Read the book and attend class and you will be fine.

Spring 2013 marked the first semester in her redesigned course. We did a Statecraft simulation that was fun. She is a wonderful instructor-nice, funny, helpful. Exams were difficult though-mult. choice/essays and NO study guide. Encourages you to come to office hours if needed. High emphasis on textbook use. I recommend her.

Very nice lady. Her class is pretty stress-free. Her two exams are not difficult at all if you attend class every day and take down all of the notes. Readings are supplementary. There was one paper which wasn't hard at all. You will get an A or B with a decent effort.

Take her if you get the chance! I was not that interested in Gov't before, and now I switched my major after taking her class. Her class is interesting, and she is a very nice lady to go and talk to. New York times not bad at all, and she tells you what is on the final and midterm.

Textbooks aren't particularly used in class. Lectures are via PowerPoint, very clear. Nice lady - but definitely a liberal professor. Classes seem to attract a fair number of hippies. You only get two exams - a midterm and a final. You'll also have a big paper or a group project. You will also be required to monitor the NY Times and discuss stories

Very nice, experienced and caring about every student. She acts more like your favorite 3rd grade teacher than a prof. Easy tests, current events are cool. But she gets off topic and over explains topics that may be unrelated. Not much use of book. Overall she will make your learning fun even if you don't like the course.

People like Dr. Bookmiller makes going to class at 9:30am enjoyable. Her Lectures are well organized and informative, part of class involves keeping in-tune with current events. Study your notes and make sure to copy down the discussion questions VERBATIM as they will appear on exams. Great class great prof. Highly recommend!

I think it's pretty hard to get an A with her but I got a B+. Just study for the midterm and final and read the NY Times and you will be good. And I actually enjoyed reading the NYTimes ha..
