I really enjoyed this class. Professor Gardner is very approachable and encourages conversation and interaction. She very much encourages the learning process. The workload was challenging but not difficult. Very balanced.

ton's of reading, however hybrid class was perfect, plus she is very easy to listen to and understand. Highly recommend, but be ready to put in the work.

Took the hybrid class, great option to have. You must read the book, and it's not light reading, but not boring either. There are weekly reading quizzes, and you get a notecard for the tests. Do the work asked for and you will be fine.

she is a great teacher and the class is very interesting...only problem is its a lot of WORK! two midterms and a final and a final project and a quic over the readings. i think we ended up reading 3 books.(I convinced her to make the final project the final lol)she is very understanding and listens to her students. I got a solid A but i put in work

women's history...really interesting but entirely too much work. we had a quiz over readings every week and had TWO midterms and almost had a final project and a final (we convinced her to drop the mandatory final) also had two major papers to write...one of which u can only use primary resources. If u have a lot of time take her...but beware

I took her for Women's History. She's amazing, I learned from her the most than any other teacher in my life. I like how she promotes class discussions and really makes you think and learn. She's super smart and knows her stuff. I'd recommend her to anyone.

Prof. Gardner is amazing, she's very relaxed but won't hesitate to call you out if you need to shape up. She really cares about her students as people and will go beyond what is expected as a teacher to make sure her students needs are met. I took her HIS4973 and she walked us through it, but left us space to figure things out ourselves as well.

If you are smart you'll take this class, and if you aren't, you should take this class. Prof. Gardner is the absolute best, on the platform, one on one session,it doesn't matter. Look in the mirror, if you don't take her class you're looking at a fool.

Great professor. Weekly quizes but they couldnt be easier if you only pay attention to the lectures. Extra credit opportunities but i hardly needed them. Had to read 2 high school level books and quized on them. Easy B with just common sense and general knowledge. Easy A if you just take notes and read them once or twice

Excellent teacher! She knows the material extremely well. And not just the material she lectures on, ask her some obscure question from the era and see for yourself. Just go to class, take notes and bring a notecard to test day :) too easy, highly recommend.

Professor Gardner was an awesome teacher. I have NEVER enjoyed a history class in my LIFE, but Gardner's class was great! Class IS mandatory, but as long as you go, pay attention, and take notes, you will do great! If you have the opportunity TAKE HER CLASS!

Professor Gardner was such an amazing teacher! Very passionate and engaging!I hated history before her class! In a big lecture hall she makes you feel like family! She is very organized and fair! Prof. Gardner is fantastic! Her classes are interesting, informational, and educational. She is very interactive with the class, so it is very rarely dull. She's willing to help every student if they ask and gives LOTS of opportunities for extra credit. She also allows 5x7 index card cheat sheets on all quizzes and tests.
