GREAT PROFESSOR! Take her before you leave Howard! She is sooo nice and helpful and as long as you're respectful and at least try, then you'll get an A. She missed class often this semester, and wouldn't send an email beforehand so we'd know not to come, but I didn't mind too much. Her class was mostly discussion, too.

A delightful personality, very spontaneous and pleasant. Her work isn't difficult if you just do it by midterm and final time. She will help you if you let her. May give random assignments sometimes. She was absent frequently but she makes up for it in class. Picks on her students a bit, but nothing serious. Take her for any English class! :)

She is an overall great person. She cares about her students well-being and the way they are feeling. I'm not too sure how she is about work because I had her for freshman seminar and the work she assigned she always accepted after, and it was a pass or fail class. I would take her for a regular class because she's very understanding.

Dr. Ellison is great :o) I enjoyed her class, but ended up getting an incomplete. When I discussed the matter with her, she was kind, compassionate, and fair. When it came time to turn in the paper I still owed, she graded it and didn't penalize me! - How's that for fair? She's the kind of professor you wish you could take over and over.

Kitty as she allowed us to call her was a wonderful teacher. She was down to earth and really connected with the students. She was willing to share her life experiences with us and take time to get to know us. I found her class to be very easy but that may be due to enjoying it so much.

She is a great person and one of the best at HU. Her class will challenge you somewhat so if you are looking for an easy A she is not the one. Especially good for english and journalism majors.
