Comment:

General Biology is all lecture and the their are 4 test based on the notes. The tests are really hard. He curves them to a low C. The test average is usually Ds and Fs. He gives out very seldom extra credit and attendance matters! He keeps you awake in lecture with a little bit of humor. Doesnt round up your grades!

Hes a sweet old man but the class is horribly boring! I remember liking biology in high school but this kinda ruined it. there are only 4 tests and a little bit of extra credit so you have to do extremely well on the tests to have a good grade (A) since there arent any other assignments. he does curve it a little though and gives a practice test

Comment:

Compared to the other Gen Bio choices, Dr. Haberyan was a great teacher. He provides note outlines for the lectures and the tests are taken directly from these outlines. The tests and attendance are the only grades recorded, but he does provide 3 or 4 bonus opportunities that take hardly any effort. The lab does not follow his lectures.

He was alright... since he gives outlined notes, even though the lecture is heavy and boring, you can catch up. I would not say he is terrible, but not great either. he is OKAY.

By far one of the best professors at Northwest. I have had my faIr share of terrible professors, but Haberyan isn't one of them. He's kooky and is just a nice guy. His test were all writing based, but not too bad. Attendance wasn't taken and lecture recording were available. I am a B student and without trying too hard I recieved a B.

If you don't come to class you are going to fail. His note system gives you a great understanding of how to answer the questions based off of the info inthe book. The test guides weren't very helpful because they are more for people who are taking Deringgers class. Kurk will help you the best he can whenever. Very nice guy.

He is the best teacher ever! Practically gives you an A. Attendence is not manditiory but sometimes gives extra credit for it. There is so much extra credit it is reduculuos! The tests are super easy if you look over your notes. He is so goofy and makes the class fun. He is also very interested in helping anyone who needs it :)

I had him for General Biology. He is really positive, super nice, & willing to help. There are extra credit oppotunities in his class. Tests arent too bad. Sometimes he is kinda goofy but it's cool--He definitely has a passion and knows what he is talking about! I would suggest him...

The first couple weeks are hard, but you'll get used to his teaching style! He is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He really knows what he is talking about too, so if you need help, just ask. ALSO - HE GIVES OUT A LOT OF EXTRA CREDIT FOR ATTENDANCE, SO GO TO CLASS!! =) He's a goofy guy that wants everyone to succeed, seriously...take him!!
