Comment:

Professor Fields seems to be confusing at times, gave very little notes through out the semester. The class was required to write up two lab reports; no exams were given. He seems to be a nice professor once you get to know him. He also speaks very softly. Overall the course was not all that great.

Very poor teacher. One of those people who thinks he is smart, but is actually quite stupid. He teaches according to his view of the area but his research has had very limited impact. Awful personality.

By far the most difficult professor ive encountered. He turns a simple sentence into something imcomprehensable by using advanced vocabulary. the textbook doesnt help at all, his quizzes are crazy difficult and unfair.

To be fair,Prof. Fields teaches the material very well. The problem is that he speaks very quietly. Also, he uses very advanced vocabulary, more than a typical person so if you are in the class, you better understand English reallly well. His qizzes are really hard to do well on. On the 1st quiz, 19 ppl got blow a 65 & 12 people got a 65 or higher.

This professor is intelligent however should he be teaching? He is very hard to understand and picked on students in class making them feel inferior. He would make people go write on the board, or ask people questions who he know didn't get the information. When you asked him a question his response made you more confused.

I'm very sorry not to conform with all the negative criticism. This professor may speak quite softly in class however once a certain level of interest is maintained by the student along with some moderate amount of work there shouldn't be a problem to get an A in this class.

Dr. Fields is brilliant - but he doesn't quite know how to take his vast amount of knowledge and convey it to students in a clear, concise and understandable way. I love to be challenged - but even more than that, I love to be taught. And Dr. Fields just doesn't teach

By far the hardest teacher Ive had so far. Gives you almost no chance of getting an A. Hes voice puts you to sleep and he doesn't know how to teach. All he does is talk about himself and what he has done.. Very mean! FINAL WAS RIDICULOUS! DO NOT TAKE HIM!

Jackas. Makes already difficult material harder. Gets of on tests. Convoluted wording on very difficult exams. Textbook is unintelligible. Conniving egomaniac. Not helpful even when mistakes are due to his ambiguousness or due to material in textbook he disagrees with. Highly NOT recommended!
