Comment:

Make sure you pick a good lab table on the first day w people that youd like to work w. If you act interested and ask him questions other students will get jealous and say they dont like him/the class but participation is key, hes smart and easy going. Read the ch. in the book. If youre truly into science or nursing you will like the class

Comment:

Horribly disorganized. Super nice professor and caring but tests were ridiculously hard with no clear study guides. The guides were not what was on the tests. The entire class had a difficult time. Lab was fun however. Lectures were boring and hard to follow. Lectures were labeled by number instead of chapter, made it difficult to follow along.

He is soo lecture heavy! Prepare to sit and hear him tell stories about his time when he was doing his thesis paper. This man cares more about telling you his career as a Bio major than helping prepare for your degree and even this class. Don't take him unless you want to struggle in the class.

Tough grader, but unclear on what info he is looking for. Takes several weeks to return labs, sometimes forgets to enter grades. Forgets where he leaves off in lecture. Inconsistent expectations between different sections of classes. Once disappeared in the middle of a lab for a half hour and acted like nothing happened. TAKE ONLY AS A LAST RESORT!

Comes off pretty hard in the beginning but is a softy who cares about his students. He is highly intelligent and moody and loves to tell stories tied into the lecture content. Lecture notes are confusing and you will prob fail the tests. Will be stressed/afraid you are failing but you won't in the end. Go to class. Connect with him. Engage. Read.

The lab portion of the class was good. The lectures, assignments, tests were bad. Be prepared to teach yourself. The lectures do not match what was on the tests or the final.

Extremily high and unnecessary expectations, lecture notes did not coincide with test info, and did not have an atmosphere that promoted asking questions. I asked one question through out the course and felt stupid for asking it. This class negatively effected my once great GPA. Also took forever to put grades in Icampus.

He is a nice man, but a seriously a nightmare as a professor. The class average for our first test was a 58%. He lectures for HOURS & then he becomes annoyed if the class does not remember everything from previous BIO classes. The tests are super difficult. I honestly never knew what I was even supposed to learn. I learned nothing.

He was by far one of my favorite science professors I have ever had. He makes learning enjoyable and he is hilarious! He is very passionate about microbiology and is willing to answer any question that you have. This subject is hard, but he makes it easy to learn. I would absolutely take another class with him!

Professor Crump is knowledgable and passionate about microbiology, he loves to go on and on about it. His lectures are long and he does expect you to know a lot of the information from other biology classes. But he was fair and understanding when it came to quizzes and homework. His labs were easy A and he is a genuinely nice guy.

Not the best teacher but I guess he wasnt the worst. He was very unorganized. All the quizzes were online but there were constantly problems with them not working or being scored incorrectly. Also we did Quick Fire response which was pretty much an essay, We did 2 and they had to be 15,000 words -about 8 pages. You had a week to finish it.

He is really funny and tells stories and gives background information that definitely helps you remember the information. He is always willing to help and answer questions. He is a pretty fair grader. However, I only took two tests and 2 material quizzes all semester. KNOW YOUR NOTES AND PAY ATTENTION TO LECTURE! I'd take his class again!

Professor Crump is a brilliant instructor. Although he could tell less corny jokes. I hears such bad things about him as a teacher, but most of it proved to be wrong. He is just a bit unorganized but he is very understanding and will give extra points when he is wrong on a test.

do not take this professor! he is extremely unorganized and my grade reflects it. he his lectures are pointless. we were constantly behind schedule and playing catch up. we did not cover the last 6 chapters and he still gave us the cumulative final expecting us to learn the material on our own. his powerpoints are so confusing and hard to follow.

I never thought I would like Microbiology but Professor Crump made it interesting. Oftentimes, his lectures include real-life examples making the subject matter easier to digest. He is knowledgeable, easy to approach and willing to help. Fair warning, he is a bit disorganized though he knows it. Bottom line, add him to your class schedule.

One of the most intelligent professor's I've ever encountered. I have the highest respect for Crump and he makes Micro amazing. You can't hate on a teacher that plays reggae during lab sessions. Why? Because "it's the happiest music"

He is incredibly intelligent and tries to make his lectures a bit more interesting. He is a tough grader (check your grammarspelling), but if he ever makes a mistake while grading he is very receptive to feedback and will fix it. He is a bit disorganized and sometimes forgets that we don't have doctorates in micro, but he will clarify if you ask.

He really knows his material but has no idea how to teach it to the students. He was very unorganized and for the beginning of the semester let the class out early but at the end he didn't have enough time to cover all the material so he gave us quizzes to take while we were studying for finals. He was a nice guy but doesn't know how to teach well.
