He's very knowledgeable in his field, but isn't the best at explaining it to undergrads. Seemed to be focused on other things, but was flexible with his assignments and is a nice guy!

For such a successful and renowned economist, he's quite the scatterbrain. It's a little fun to watch, though it can be boring and lulling when you're already tired. Other than that, pretty easy class.

Larry is a really nice guy. Sadly, that does not make him a good teacher. We only received one grade back the entire semester, a midterm which we did test-corrections for that he never returned. His lectures consisted of absent-minded rambling about his newest book and at the end of the semester I could wholeheartedly say that I learned nothing.

Great guy, econ isn't for everyone and so many of these reviews are not his fault but rather that of the material. I'd take him again in a second. Generally cares about his students. He is clear if you pay attention, this is not easy material.

He himself isn't a bad guy, he just wants you to come to class, which is right of him to push for. He just has the rotten luck of being interested in macroeconomics, a miserable subject.

I had him for 102 and HATED him, but changed my opinion of him this semester. He's a really nice and intelligent guy, and tries to be really helpful to students. Pretty fair, etc. Tests are tough, but pretty fair. I like him.

Given he's not a great professor, I don't think he deserves all the bad stuff said about him on this site. His lectures can be confusing, but he's always ready to help. He's like the most stereotypical econ professor who couldn't make a joke if his life depended on it, but he tries. Take him for higher level courses and you'll like him.

I'm totally shocked to see how much this guy is hated among his students. He was such a nice guy in EC562 although he was terrible at teaching, I learned nothing in his classes, he talks about thousands of different, irrelevant things in one class and you end up overly confused... exams were not hard and he was a fair grader.

I appeal to all posters here to try to get to know Prof. Kotlikoff. He is very intelligent and extremely nice to talk to. His Macro book is the best I have ever seen and inspires me to study Public Economics. I understand how he may not be best teaching an intro class but I am glad to be in EC562. AND he pays us to buy snacks every week!!!
